“I’m a huge believer still in the sacredness of the set or the actors’ space and it never being violated,” she shared, emphasizing the importance of creating a safe environment during such vulnerable moments. “It’s ours, it’s the bubble, and then there’s the world outside.”
Her co-star, Harris Dickinson, echoed these sentiments, giving a nod to intimacy coordinator Lizzy Talbot.
“She was important for the film and broke the unnecessary barrier and conversation around what you have to do,” he noted. Talbot’s guidance helped the cast approach the scenes with professionalism and trust.
Kidman also expressed her confidence in director Halina Reijn, who handled the subject matter with care and sensitivity.
“I knew Halina wasn’t going to exploit me,” Kidman said. “It’s the story I wanted to be part of, that I wanted to tell.” She added that the cast and crew were like a family, looking out for each other as they tackled the difficult subject matter.
