Dan Levy Is Reminding People That It's Okay To Not Want Kids

On a day that is normally reserved for revering motherhood all across the globe, actor/director Dan Levy decided to do spread a very different kind of message to his fans across the Twitterverse.

Dan tweeted out a reminder that it's OK to pursue life, absent children. And that choosing not to have kids is neither selfish nor is it abnormal.

We all know that celebrities have OPINIONS.

And more often than not, they are torn to shreds when they talk about pretty much anything.

Thankfully that wasn't the case with Dan Levy's most recent tweet!

Dan levy is a comedic actor/director, best known for his starring role in *Schitt's Creek*.

Dan played David Rose: a disgraced former trust-fund baby who's forced to carve out a life for himself (and his family) in the small rural town of Schitt's Creek.

The series ran for six seasons and wound up sweeping the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards with an astonishing nine wins.

This past Mother's Day, Dan posted a Tweet that has since gained a considerable amount of traction.

Dan is speaking to the considerable pressure placed upon men and women by society, their own parents and even themselves to have children.

I mean, the guy is right.

No one has the right to tell someone else what they should or shouldn't do when it comes to their bodies.

If someone doesn't want children for literally any reason, they shouldn't have to justify it!

The overwhelming response to Dan's post has been incredibly positive.

Thousands of people just like @MotivatedByNaps (best Twitter handle ever) have been compelled to thank Dan and share their own stories about the pressure to conform to someone else's idea of happiness.

Of course, there were a few people who were annoyed with him.

But hey, you find that with any tweet or Instagram picture am I right?

It's inevitable. But overall, people were super positive under his tweet.

Many have also pointed out that this societal pressure can be extra hard on women.

"Your biological clock is ticking" is a phrase that every woman will loathe to hear at least once in their lifetime.

Dan's message is a reminder that the only timeline that matters is the one we set for ourselves.
