In the world of film and TV, audiences are pretty accustomed to sitting through a n**e scene or two these days. For the people in them, however, it’s a more bizarre thing to get used to. And frankly, some just don’t.
As stars gain more and more power over their own careers, they’re more able to say “no” to the things that make them uncomfortable.
Here’s a list of celebs who won’t get naked just because the script says they should.
Anna Kendrick

Back in 2010, Anna Kendrick told The Telegraph that she was not into doing n**e scenes. She said, “I am not criticising people who do [n**e scenes] but I plan to keep doing what I am doing and hope it keeps going good.”
She even used a b**t double for a film, according to E! Online
Emma Watson

Emma Watson is an icon as the portrayer of female legends like Hermione Granger and Belle. She told The New York Daily News that she doesn’t feel the need to get wild to try and outrun her time as Hermione: “I’m not going to get my kit off or snort cocaine in a film, just to leave Hermione behind,” she explained.
Rihanna

According to Capital FM , Rihanna’s reason for avoiding on-screen n****y is a very relatable one: “My mother would kill me if I posed n**e! My mother raised me with certain standards.” Red carpets and her Instagram, however, seem to be fair game — her body, her rules.
Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts keeps it short and to the point. Talking to Marie Claire , she said: “I wouldn’t do n****y in a film. To act with my clothes on is a performance. To act with my clothes off is a documentary.”
Jenna Fischer

Former The Office star Jenna Fischer once told P*****y (of all places!) that n****y is not in the cards for her. “Well, I wouldn’t do anything I wouldn’t be proud to show my parents.” She actually said that to a screenwriter who wanted her to do a n**e scene early in her career. He told her she wasn’t a real actress.
Guess the joke’s on him.
Evangeline Lilly

Evangeline Lilly’s experience with having no control over her partial n**e scenes on LOST led to her ruling them out for herself entirely. She said to MSN:
“When I read scripts that involves n****y, I pass. And it’s not because I think there’s anything wrong with doing n****y, it’s because I don’t trust that I can be comfortable and safe.”
Mila Kunis

Mila rose up and used her voice for good when she spoke about her experiences being pressured into doing n**e scenes.
After being told she would never work again if she didn’t, Mila said, ” […] for the first time in my career I said ‘no.’ And guess what? The world didn’t end.”
Honestly, read her whole post on the matter. It’s important.
Kellan Lutz

Kellan Lutz’s aversion to n**e scenes is down to finding them unnecessary. “I have a n****y clause. I just don’t think n****y needs to happen. For me, I don’t need to walk out of a shower showing my [expletive].” He told IOL.
Jessica Alba

Yet another easy reason to not go n**e? Your grandparents, of course. Jessica Alba told Glamour , “I don’t want my grandparents to see my b***s. That’s it. It would be weird at Christmas.”
I get it.
Sandra Bullock

Sandra Bullock has no problem admitting why she won’t go n**e on film–she doesn’t want to see herself like that. She said to The Times . “I don’t want to know what my best angles are. Don’t wanna see it. Don’t want to hear it. Therefore, I’m not going to do it on film.”
Ricky Gervais

The comedian joined in with his former The Invention of Lying co-star, Jennifer Garner, to talk their lack of n****y on-screen. “There’s no chance of me doing it!” He said to MTV. “Unless I had a stunt one.”
Well…
Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner joined co-star Ricky Gervais in swearing off n**e scenes for herself. She also told MTV that the odds of her getting naked are about 0.
“No, thank you. The world deserves better. Not interested.”
Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson faced a gross situation with Sacha Baron Cohen on the set of Grimsby , where he thought she should strip–for comedy. “Every single day he’s like, ‘Rebel, can you just go naked in this scene?’ And I’m like, ‘No!’” Rebel described the situation to News.com like it was all in good fun, but still. It’s a little weird.
Jay Baruchel

N****y isn’t very appealing for Jay Baruchel, who has done some pretty outrageous things in the name of comedy. However, getting naked and having to face his family is definitely the line. “[…] I have a little sister and my mother who live two blocks away from me. I don’t need my junk being out there for everyone to see,” he told Cinema Blend.
Megan Fox
Megan Fox and Sandra Bullock have something in common: they don’t want to see what they look like naked on screen. But it’s also deeper than that: after pictures of her leaked without her consent, she felt she’d lost her privacy. Talking to MTV, she said, “Literally all I have left are my private parts and I don’t want to also share them with the world.”
Sarah Jessica Parker

SJP is arguably one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, and that means she calls the shots. But it wasn’t always like that–she was once almost forced to do a n**e scene.
“They were like, ‘Sarah Jessica’s going to be n**e tomorrow,’ and I was like ‘I’m not going to be n**e.’” She won, and now she has a no-n****y clause in her contract, she told People .
Kristen Bell

Kristen Bell keeps it pretty light on her opinion towards doing n**e scenes. “All the Mr. Skins of the world are like, ‘Ooh, Kristen gets naked!’ I’m like, ‘Dream on!'” Sometimes, it really can be just that simple.
Hilary Duff
A younger Hilary very clearly stated in 2006, ” I don’t want to take my top off or anything.”
She’s stuck to that. More recently, after a fake n**e photo was leaked, Hilary contacted the FBI about its inauthenticity. She is serious about her privacy, as she should be.
Blake Lively

Ah, the distraction factor. Blake Lively gave a logical answer to why she won’t do n**e scenes–she finds them distracting! She told The Daily Mail , “I know that if I am watching a scene and someone has their b***s out, then that’s all I’m looking at – I can’t help it.”
Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore likes her privacy, thank you very much. She describes her attitude towards n****y to Entertainment Tonight : “I’m a modest girl. No one has seen my b**t besides me behind closed doors […]” She even used a b**t double in her film, Chasing Liberty .
Isla Fisher

Comedy means different things to different people. To Isla Fisher, it means no n****y. She told The Sydney Morning Harold , “It is not like I have a problem with n****y but I didn’t think there was anything funny about seeing a woman’s n****e […]”
She’s not wrong.
Emma Roberts

For some who have never done a n**e scene, it’s a topic of deep reflection. Emma Roberts is torn on both n**e and love scenes: “I don’t know that I’d do a full-on n**e scene, ever […] I’ve never had a full-on s*x scene…but we’ll see.” She told W Magazine .
Katy Perry

Katy prefers to keep things risqué, not full-frontal. She told People , “I’m like a burlesque girl. I definitely won’t be doing a P*****y spread, but I will be doing a kind of Dita Von Teese style.”
Rachel Bilson
Rachel Bilson thinks n****y is pretty unnecessary when it comes to keeping a movie sexy. She told P*****y that she fought against it being used in her film, The Last Kiss : “It’s almost a deal breaker. The movie was rated R, and they like to put in n****y wherever they can, but I’m pretty strong willed and believe it can be avoided.”
