It’s spooky season, y’all. And you know what that means? It’s time to pull out the Ouija boards, ominous background music, and protective salts.

Anyway, now that we’re all gathered and have some snacks (go get snacks if you don’t have some yet), let’s settle in and hear some of the craziest stories involving celebrity ghost encounters.
Miley Cyrus once stayed in a flat that used to be a haunted bakery.

I was sitting there the next night and maybe I’m crazy, but I could have sworn I could see this little boy sitting there on the sink, kicking his feet.”
Her sister had encounters with the ghosts, too.
Jenny Slate grew up in a haunted house.
“I grew up in Massachusetts. I grew up in a genuine haunted house…I knew it was haunted. When my parents moved in, they bought it with all the furniture in it, the people had died, and—I’m getting scared even telling the story,” she told Ellen.
My dad went out into the hall, and he looked onto the stairs, and standing there was this sea captain, looking at him, pleading. The fear of that ghost has basically shaped my entire personality.”
La Toya Jackson feels that Michael Jackson haunts her.
When a security guard heard tap dancing coming from an empty room, he reported it to La Toya.
“When he told me I said, ‘You’re kidding!’ That made me want to know even more about hearing someone tap dance over a certain part of the house and I go, ‘Well, Michael used to do that every Sunday for two hours.’
We go up there and no one’s up there—just tap dancing. And the dog barks at his room, the window, every single night at the same time.”
Megan Mullally says she and Nick Offerman’s home is haunted by Nicole Brown Simpson.
You know, OJ Simpson’s ex-wife. Their house is located on the same spot Nicole’s used to be.
“We would have in that house, in one corner of the house, like maybe where the bedroom used to be in the old house, we would have all these sounds and weird things all the time.
I would be like, ‘That’s Nicole and she’s pissed because Nick doesn’t get it.'”
Chloë Sevigny had a run-in with the ghost of Lizzie Borden.
Borden is infamous for allegedly killing her father and stepmother with an axe in 1892.
“I kept hearing all these weird moaning and groaning noises, but there wasn’t anybody else in the house. It was terrifying.” She said .
She later turned that experience into a film — Lizzie , which was released in 2018.
Ariana Grande visited a cemetery known as one of the Seven Gates of Hell on Earth.
“I felt this sick, overwhelming feeling of negativity over the whole car and we smelled sulfur, which is the sign of a demon, and there was a fly in the car randomly, which is another sign of a demon.
I was like, ‘This is scary, let’s leave.’ I rolled down the window before we left and said, ‘We apologize. We didn’t mean to disrupt your peace.’ Then I took a picture and there are three super distinct faces in the picture—they’re faces of textbook demons.” She told Complex .
Keanu Reeves saw a disembodied figure.
“I was living in New Jersey when I saw and felt this ghost. I remember just staring at this suit, which had no body or legs in it as it came into the room before disappearing.
It was a double-breasted suit in white, and I looked at my nanny, who was just as shocked as me. I just couldn’t get back to sleep afterwards, and I still see the figure in my dreams and nightmares.”
Okay, that story gave me chills.
Dan Aykroyd took ghostbusting to a new level.
By…snuggling one.
He claims he lived in a house haunted by the late Mama Cass, as well as another unidentified man.
“I woke up…I saw the door open, and I rolled over and looked at the bed, and I saw the depression in the mattress, like somebody was getting in there. And I thought, ‘I’m just going to roll over and snuggle up next to it.'”
Kate Hudson is no stranger to seeing ghosts.
“I’ve seen ghosts plenty of times.
I’ve seen a ghost of a woman with no face, and that was really creepy. Another time, my grandmother came to me and I woke up and felt amazing that she was around me.”
No face? Hard pass .
Dale Earnhardt Jr. says a ghost saved his life.
After a car accident in 2004, he felt a pair of hands pull him from the wreck and lay him on the ground.
“And I fell to the ground, and there’s pictures of me laying on the ground next to the car. I know that when I got to the hospital, I was like, ‘Who pulled me out of the car? I gotta say thanks to this person,’ because it was a hand! It was physical hands grabbing me! I felt it.
And there was nobody there.”
Demi Lovato saw a little girl in her house.
When she was 8, closing her closet door turned into a nightmare.
“And when I shut it, I saw a little girl, and she was dressed like she was from the 1800s. And [she] was just standing in my closet.”
Why is it always little girls?
Cher thinks Sonny is haunting her.
“I love ghosts. I actually think that Sonny makes a light go on.
I have a beautiful chandelier that he makes the light go on when it is impossible, there is no power on. I love ghosts, I prefer ghosts to some people.” She said .
That was an unexpectedly cute ghost story.
Peter Jackson saw a ghost while staying across from a haunted theater.
“I woke up one morning and there was a figure in the room, she was very scary, she had a screaming face, very accusatory, she was a lady about 50 years old.
It was terrifying actually…she was at the end of the bed…she glided across the room and disappeared into the wall. I sat in bed and thought, have I really seen that?”
Apparently, his wife saw her , too.
Jessica Alba was visited by a ghost in her sleep.
“I felt this pressure and I couldn’t get up, I couldn’t scream, I couldn’t talk, I couldn’t do anything.
Something definitely took the covers off me and I definitely couldn’t get off the bed, and then, once I did, I screamed, ran to my parents’ room and I don’t think I spent many nights in that house ever again.” She said at a press junket in 2008.
Kendall Jenner says Kris Jenner’s house is haunted.
She told Vogue , “In the house my mom lives in, Kylie and I would always hear footsteps on the roof while no one was home.
Kylie’s shower used to turn on all the time and we never knew why. So yeah, I’m convinced it was a ghost.”
