As the world progresses, more and more of our favorite celebrities have become more comfortable with coming out.

“I’m attracted to men and also to women. If I bring a woman home, [or] a man, we don’t even have to have the discussion.” She said.
When addressing her relationship with rumored partner Janelle Monáe, she also thoughtfully spoke about the responsibilities of being out as a public figure.
Jason Mraz
Jason Mraz came out as bisexual in a clever way: he made a pun.
In a poem celebrating Pride Month for Billboard.com, he finished the piece with the line, “I am bi your side.”
Now that’s adorable.
Paris Jackson
Paris Jackson “officially” came out last year, and she was certainly frustrated about it.
She expressed how obvious it was that she likes both men and women, and that it was almost unnecessary for her to have to come out at all.
Abbi Jacobson
The Broad City star came out as bi to Vanity Fair .
When asked about her dating life, she said:
“I kind of go both ways; I date men and women.
They have to be funny, doing something they love. I don’t know—I’ve never really been interviewed about this before.”
Josie Totah
Former Disney channel star Josie Totah came out as a transgender woman in an incredible essay to Time .
“My pronouns are she, her and hers. I identify as female, specifically as a transgender female. And my name is Josie Totah.”
Amandla Stenberg
Amandla Stenberg came out of the closet bursting with love.
In an interview with King Princess for Wonderland , Amandla happily came out as gay.
In her Instagram post, she said: “So happy to say the words Yep, I’m Gay in official print.”
I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Lilly Singh
YouTuber and future Tonight Show host Lilly Singh came out on Twitter!
She is one of the first, if not the very first South-Asian women to come out as bisexual.
Go, girl.
Janelle Monáe
When Janelle Monáe came out, she did it in style .
Monáe came out as pansexual to Rolling Stone . She said: “Being a queer black woman in America, someone who has been in relationships with both men and women – I consider myself to be a free-a*** motherf*****.”
Brendon Urie
The Panic! At the Disco singer opened up about his pansexuality to Paper Magazine :
“I’m married to a woman and I’m very much in love with her, but I’m not opposed to a man because to me, I like a person. Yeah, I guess you could qualify me as pansexual because I really don’t care.”
Kevin McHale
Glee alum Kevin McHale announced to the world that he’s gay in true millennial fashion: while freaking out over Ariana Grande.
Rumors swirled around he and actor Austin McKenzie at the same time, which he confirmed during a Facebook Live.
Jessie Paege
The YouTuber came out as gay to her 1.5 million subscribers at the end of Pride Month last year.
In an incredibly emotional video, Paege detailed the struggle she had on her journey to coming out.
“It’s like, actually happening, and I’ve wanted to talk about it for years. I’m like kind of laughing, kind of want to cry.”
Rita Ora
The situation around Rita Ora coming out was not a happy one.
Fans thought she was being disrespectful with some lyrics in the song “Girls,” which she collaborated on with Charli XCX, Cardi B and Bebe Rexha.
Here’s hoping that cancel culture takes a step back in order to give artists room to express themselves at their own pace, huh?

When asked about gay actors playing gay characters, he grew uncomfortable.
“I’ve dated men. I’ve dated women. I don’t know why anyone would care. I’m an actor and I play roles.
To be honest, I don’t know what to say—I find your question intrusive.”
It’s important for interviewers to be respectful of their subject’s boundaries.

Kehlani decided to come out on Twitter, and she had a very specific message: she’s queer above all other label.
She deleted the tweets in order to correct her terminology use. We love a constantly learning queen!

The star of Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen came out publicly in 2019—but he’s been out to his family since he was young.
He made a music video about being in love with a man for his debut album!
Bex Taylor-Klaus
The Scream and Arrow actor came out as non-binary in July on Twitter , saying, “I came out as trans non-binary in a room full of people today. Guess it’s time for me to do that on here, too …Hi. I’m Bex, and the rumors are true. I’m v enby.” Enby is a digital shortening of non-binary, pronounced N.B.
Beanie Feldstein
In promotion for her new movie Booksmart , the actress and sister of Jonah Hill revealed that her partner is a woman. Beanie has been very candid on social media about how she’s in love with her girlfriend, and it’s adorable to see.
Alyson Stoner
The former Disney star and current choreographer/actor/model extraordinaire wrote a heartfelt essay detailing her experience falling in love with a woman.
Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie’s debut album Speak Your Mind came out this year, and in an interview with The Line of Best Fit , she spoke out about her song “Perfect.”
“I’ve never ever just been attracted to men. I’ve never just been attracted to women. I’ve never felt the need to tell anyone that I’m bisexual. I don’t feel like I am. I just feel like I’m attracted to who I like.”
Tyler Blackburn
When he wasn’t stealing our hearts in Pretty Little Liars or Roswell, New Mexico , Tyler Blackburn spent the past year coming to terms with his sexuality. In an interview with The Advocate , he said, ““I’m queer. I’ve identified as bisexual since a teenager. I just want to feel powerful in my own skin, and my own mind, and in my own heart.”
Sam Smith
In an interview with Jameela Jamil for I Weigh Interviews , the singer/songwriter came out as non-binary and genderqueer, saying, “I am not male or female. I think I float somewhere in between — somewhat on the spectrum.”
Cameron Hawthorn
Country singer Cameron Hawthorn used the music video for his song “Dancing in the Living Room” to come out as gay, by showing him dancing with another man in the final shot.
Hennessy Carolina
Cardi B’s little sister and social media/reality TV star Hennessy Carolina revealed to the world on Instagram that she had been dating another woman for over a year.
