Earlier this week, it was announced that Jennifer Flavin had filed for divorce from her star husband, Sylvester Stallone, after 25 years of marriage.

The Rocky actor and his wife have been married since May of 1997, which means their split comes after a whopping 25 years, an almost unheard of amount of time in Hollywood!

The pair share three daughters together — Sophia, 25, Sistine, 24, and Scarlet, 20.

As fans will recall, Sylvester and Jennifer began dating back in 1988.

Of course, the pair briefly broke up in 1994 after the "Rocky" actor admitted to an affair with model Janice Dickinson and infamously broke up with Jennifer through a FedExed letter.

The couple got back together in 1995 and married two years later in May 1997.

Earlier this week, rumors began to swirl that Sylvester and Jennifer were donezo after Sylvester was photographed with a new tattoo of a dog in place of the ink he had dedicated to his wife.

Yikes.

While the internet began speculating, Sylvester's publicist released a statement clarifying what happened.

"Mr. Stallone intended to refresh the tattoo image of his wife Jennifer however the results were unsatisfactory and, unfortunately, unfixable," the statement read.

"As a result, he had to cover the original image with a tattoo of his dog from Rocky, Butkus."

"Mr. Stallone loves his family. The Stallones are presently filming a reality show together which will debut on Paramount+," the statement concluded.

Despite the statement, fans continued to believe the pair were splitting up after Jennifer shared a photo of herself and her daughters with the caption: "These girls are my priority nothing else matters. The 4 of us forever."

On Wednesday, August 24, Jennifer filed for divorce from her husband of 25 years.

As reported by TMZ, she is accusing the actor of moving assets from marital funds.

In the divorce documents, obtained by TMZ, Jennifer says: "Upon information and belief, the Husband has engaged in the intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets which has had an adverse economic impact on the marital estate."

In light of this news, fans were reminded of a podcast episode the pair did together earlier this year.

During the January 2022 episode of their daughters' podcast, Unwaxed With Sophia and Sistine Stallone, Sylvester and Jen opened up about their 25-year marriage.

Sistine said that despite her parents being "polar opposites" they "literally cannot live without one another." The sentiment was cosigned by her mom Jennifer, who replied — "That's true."

Sistine praised her mom's "organizational skills" for helping keep their family strong. "If she was out of my life, it would be mass suicide -- which infers that I have multiple personalities," Sylvester replied.

"I keep him extremely organized, so I do everything," Jennifer explained. "I do everything from the minute we wake up, from getting him coffee to bringing it to him in bed, bringing him cookies in bed every morning, then going downstairs. And then we get ready. I make you breakfast in the morning, and then I make sure everything is great for you for the day."

"I go through your schedule, and then you tell a few jokes, I laugh. That's what keeps us going, 'cause I laugh, and I laugh and I laugh, because he's so damn funny."

"Sly is the funniest man I've ever met, and I'm telling you I've sat with a lot of funny comedians. He cracks me up."

When asked what the actor does in return for his wife, he replied: "I just aggravate the hell out of her. I don't really know what I do for her. I mean, she knows I would jump in front of a small train, just like this big, a choo-choo train, I would put my arm in front of it."

"No, I think she's fantastic. She's an amazing woman. I tell her that every day. I don't know how she holds it together. She's just amazing."

We're hoping for healing during this difficult time!
