There are a whole lot of strict moms in Hollywood .
People trying to overcompensate for the fact that their children will grow up in a lot more luxury than other kids.
But Jennifer Lopez is a whole new beast. She’s a pretty strict mom, and you’re about to see why.
They have to travel a lot:

On traveling :
“I take it one day at a time. Me and the kids are like gypsies. We’re traveling all over the place and just getting it done and doing what we can.”
She avoids junk food

Whenever she decides to have snacks with her kids , she avoids any of the bad foods.
She says that whenever she wants something like that, she opts for “healthy foods”.
There are no consecutive junk food meals

She told this story once:
“I came in from my first two appointments and I had to start getting ready for this and when I left, [my kids] were eating hot dogs and I was like OK, I’m going to let that go. And then I got back and they suggested tacos for dinner and I said, ‘No! Let’s be serious here. Just because I’m working today doesn’t mean it’s taco, pizza, hot dog day”
Homework is important

While she and her daughter were rehearsing for the Super Bowl, they actually went and took a break so they could snuggle and everyone could finish their homework.
They have to see her

On seeing them during her busy life:
“I have to see them, because if I don’t see them and they don’t see me, then it’s not happiness. Like this morning, I had to work out, then I sit down and I have lunch with them before I come over here and then I go, ‘You know what? Since we’re shooting all the way through, I’ll have the kids come over at 6:30.”
They have to schedule family time

This is a quote from her :
“My son said to me this week, he goes, “Mom, I’d like to schedule… a picnic with you this week cause I know you’ve been, you know, working hard.”
They don’t fly coach

Yeah, if you’re Jennifer Lopez’s kid, there’s no way you’re going to be flying with the other plebians.
You get to, nay, must ride in private jets with their mom.
They have no body image issues

On her upbringing :
“When I grew up, I grew up with a bunch of women [from Puerto Rico], so our bodies were what they were. There was never any [embarrassment] in anything. I noticed that about my mom.”
She shares that sentiment in her house.
They aren’t allowed to care that she’s famous

Even if some of the kids at their school give them guff for it, Jennifer Lopez still reminds them that their mom has to work, and not to be bummed about it.
They have to be charitable

On their charity :
“I try to be charitable, so they know they have to be charitable because they’re growing up more privileged than I was. I want them to be loving, I want them to be generous, I want them to be kind”
“Sunday Funday”
One day a week, Jlo makes sure that they all get together and spend time together. But it’s a priviledge :
“They have to be good in school and then they get Sunday Funday. It’s something I made up so they could work towards it and behave!”
They don’t use devices during the week

She continued about Sunday Funday:
“And Sunday Funday, they work towards that because they don’t get to use their iPads during the week. Or play video games or anything because it’s school time.”
She likes to set an example

On teaching her kids about work:
“I think a lot about teaching my kids to work hard. I’ve learned something about kids ― they don’t do what you say; they do what you do.”
She sets tough boundaries

On making boundaries :
“I realize with my son, I have to sometimes be tough, especially now when he’s pushing boundaries. With my daughter, I can get a little stern with her and she pretty much will listen. But my son will just scream and yell and run. I’m like, ‘Aaaaah, what do I do with this.”
