1. Believe it or not, her real name is not Pink.
I’m sure you can sense my sarcasm!
Her full name is actually Alecia Beth Moore. Her stage name was inspired by a character in the film, Reservoir Dogs . How interesting is that?
2. She used to go to therapy when she was a teenager.

It’s important that people speak up about their mental health!
“Yeah, my mom tried to get me to talk to someone when I was fourteen to erase all the stuff she put on me. It didn’t work.”
“The therapist would ask me about my day, and I’d tell her that at lunch I had a vision of breaking a bottle over someone’s head.”
“After the fifth session, she told my mother there was nothing she could do,” she told Rolling Stone .
3. Her parents divorced when she was nine years old.

“I didn’t have a hard childhood,” she told Financial Times , however.
“Compared to other people I had a wonderful childhood. But there was a lot of fighting in my house.”
4. Her parents never let her visit her friend’s houses growing up because they believed she would be a bad influence on them.

“I was never allowed to go over to any of my friends’ houses when I was little, because I was a bad influence,” she is quoted saying in her biography .
“None of their parents liked me and my own parents were scared to death of me— and for me.”
5. She was kicked out of Sunday School and Brownies when she was a child.

“I was kicked out of Sunday school as a young child, I was kicked out of the Brownies, I never made it to Girl Scouts. I was into punk-rock music and the theme of anti-authority. I believed in all that,” she told Financial Times .
6. Her former record label chairman stepped down after allegations of sexual harrassment. But Pink believes that she was never sexually harrassed by him because of her intimidating demeanor.

“I’ve never been in a situation where that has happened,” she said .
“I can only imagine it’s because I intimidated them or that I’d bite their nose off or something. But a lot of those women are stronger than me. Maybe I’m just lucky.”
7. She has admitted to shoplifting when she was a teenager.

“Shopping bags and trash bags full of clothing from department stores,” she told Derek Paiva .
“I know that sucks to say now because of poor Winona [Ryder], but, yeah, I did it successfully and it was very easy for a while.”
8. She slashed her husband’s tires in 2003.

She admitted on The Ellen Degeneres Show that back in 2003, she slashed her husband, Carey Hart’s tires.
“It was Thanksgiving,” she recalled to Ellen DeGeneres . “The holidays are stressful.”
“I got clean through the first one,” she went on. “[Carey] has a raised F-250 and those tires are very thick, thank you very much.”

“The second one I lost a little steam, and I hit the metal part. My hand just went straight down the knife,” she said . “Got 13 stitches. But here’s the thing: I didn’t need any anesthesia. I couldn’t feel a thing.”
9. Pink proposed to her husband — not the other way around!

Traditionally, men propose to their girlfriends.
But Pink disregarded that gender norm and decided to propose to her boyfriend (at the time), Carey Hart, at a motocross event by writing, “Will U Marry Me? Serious!” on a sign she held up during the race .
“I said, ‘Well, yeah of course,'” Carey recalled in an interview with *Supercross*.

“And she said , ‘Well, get your ass back on the track. I don’t marry losers.'”

10. She admitted that she was so high in the “There You Go” music video that she could barely keep her eyes open.

“I smoked a lot of weed, too,” she told Insider .
“‘Can you wait to smoke that blunt before the next beauty shot?'” she said the director, David Meyers, asked her. “‘I really want you to be able to open your eyes.'”
11. She has openly called her mom a “lunatic.”
“Me and my mom have always had a candy-coated, selective-memory relationship. I love her and she knows that. [Sighs] But she is a lunatic, and she knows that, too,” she told Rolling Stone .
12. She said that if not for couples therapy, she and Carey probably wouldn’t be together now.

“I got a lot of [expletive] for telling people that Carey and I have been in couples counseling,” she said in an Instagram live stream.
“It’s the only reason that we’re still together.”
13. Before becoming a famous pop star, Pink worked in the fast-food industry.

She worked at McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, and Wendy’s — none of which she took very seriously. She admitted to Associated Press that she would smoke cigarettes in the drive-thru window and do acid before showing up for her shifts.
“I’d be tripping on acid …and I would say, ‘Could I have bathroom duty?’ And I would sit in the bathroom and watch the tiles,” she said .
14. Being a mother has changed her life completely.
“I am completely changed since being a mom,” she told Carson Daly on TODAY.
“I’m much more open, I’m much more accepting of myself, I’m much more thoughtful,” she continued. “I think about the world more, and what we’re leaving for these kids, and the direction we’re headed in. And so I guess it changes your music.”
In fact, she went on to say that her kids even help her with her music!
“I don’t know, it’s fun, I like noise. The kids bring a levity to the situation that wouldn’t otherwise exist. They make everything fun, they bring so much joy, they’re entertainment, they’re thoughtful. It’s just — it’s rad.”
15. She knows the dangers, but also the pleasures of social media.
She continued to say on TODAY that while she hates the toxicity of the internet, she knows that there is a good side.
She likes knowing that her music has helped her fans get through tough times.
16. She has something important she does every day with her daughter.

“Every day my daughter and I say three things that we’re grateful for. We try not to repeat ourselves. It’s a tall order! Hers can be the same, I try to keep mine creative.” she told Financial Times.
17. She stopped working with Dr. Luke after Kesha’s allegations against him.

“I don’t know what happened. But I know that regardless of whether or not Dr. Luke did that, this is his karma and he earned it because he’s not a good person.” she told The Times .
“I have told him that to his face and I do not work with him,”

“He doesn’t do good business, he’s not a kind person, he doesn’t do the right thing when given ample opportunities to do so, and I don’t really feel that bad for him.,”she finished.
18. She is extremely candid about her marriage.
“There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant … he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some. And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you,” she said in an interview with The Guardian.
“There’s nothing I like about you. We have nothing in common. I don’t like any of the shit you like. I don’t ever wanna see you again. Then two weeks later I’m like, things are going so good, you guys.”

“Then you’ll go through times when you haven’t had sex in a year. Is this bed death? Is this the end of it? Do I want him? Does he want me? Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again.”
19. She isn’t interested in the feuds that go on in the pop industry.
“I hate [the feuds]. I despise how readily available they are,” she said to The Guardian . “That’s the only thing I’m a little more thoughtful about.”
She continuously tries to stay out of them!
20. She is okay with being sexually ambiguous.
She has expressed many times that she just wants to live her life in the most authentic way possible and that she is tired of having to address it.

“Because I can be dark, I try to constantly remind myself that there’s more good than bad.”
