Not long ago, I wrote an article titled “15 Men Share Unattractive Things Women Can Do On A First Date.” It was revealing and eye-opening, to say the least.
Now, in order to gain an understanding of the other side of the coin, it’s time that we hear from the female perspective. Have a look below and read as these 15 women share their biggest “no-nos” on a first date.

Shut up about your ex.
Reddit user degeneratescholar feels that talking about an ex while out on a first date is a serious red flag. Regardless of your intent, it comes across as if you’re not over them and you’ll wind up shooting yourself in the foot.
Remember to keep work and play separate from one another.
Reddit user Skken_3 recalls dating a guy who also happened to be a psychologist. By the end of the night, she felt so psychoanalyzed that she felt as if she should be paying him by the hour.
Try to take things one day at a time.
Redditor coffeeblossom thinks that it’s great for a guy to want to have kids and all the better if you know the names of your future unborn children. Just make sure to keep that to yourself on the first date.

I don’t really feel that this is an opinion, as much as it is a statement of fact. If you can’t keep your eyes on the prize, then you aren’t worth my time.
Smokers are jokers.
Nobody thinks that smoking is cool anymore and nothing turns off Reddit user AstronomerEast8472 more than a smoker’s breath. If you’re someone who has yet to kick the habit, then you better have ample reserves of Listerine as well as plenty of mentholated gum.
There is such a thing as too much physical contact.
Redditor lyltyhnrintgrty is all for things getting physical but you have to be able to know where to draw the line. If you’re sitting too close, brushing their leg, or violating your date’s personal space — chances are you won’t be getting a second date.
No matter what, you should always shower before a first date.
You’d think that would go without saying, but apparently not. Reddit user kaguraxxd claims to have proverbially “swiped left” on a guy solely based on the fact that he stunk to high heaven.
Don’t neg me on…
Backhanded compliments are a sign of immaturity and insecurity. It’s not that Reddit user Marawal is beyond reproach, but you have to earn the right to criticize her — and that most assuredly isn’t happening on a first date.

In order for two people to have a conversation, there has to be a dialogue. Dialogue requires a certain amount of give-and-take. So stop monopolizing the conversation!
Always be kind to everyone.
Everyone has their bad days, but Redditor Zoenne has zero patience for people who are rude to servers or anyone working in the customer service industry for that matter. Being picky and pushy isn’t endearing in any capacity.
Don’t be cheesy.
Romantic gestures are fine but when they’re premature they can come off as insincere. If you tell Redditor Regular_Anteater that there’s nowhere else you’d rather be on a first date, all she’s going to do is laugh and call you a liar.
No matter what you do, never say “I love you.”
Reddit user ABeeInTheDark doesn’t want anything to do with you if you’re someone who drops the L-word too early on in the relationship. Guys who do are either immature or completely psychotic, in her opinion.
Don’t be the first person to bring up the subject of sex.
Reddit user brownhair52 feels that when a guy brings up sex too early in the conversation, it allows her to see his true colors. Just keep it in your pants until you are prompted to do otherwise.
Don’t be afraid to let your emotions shine through.
