If you’re regularly tuning in to watch Wheel of Fortune, you know Pat Sajak and the team are usually calm, cool, and professional. It’s rare the beloved TV show will ever make a mistake — they have brilliant minds working there after all!
As it turns out, the game show’s staff are only human as they recently made a major mistake in reference to one rapper’s name and the show is facing backlash online.
Look, I am the first person to say i make a lot of mistakes, especially when it comes to spelling,
My gosh, my own personal idea of hell is competing in a spelling bee — I’d be out the first round.
Of course, I’m just here writing articles, not presenting a TV show to millions of viewers every week.
When shows like “Wheel of Fortune” make mistakes it reminds us all that everyone makes mistakes, amirite?!
However, some mistakes are worse than others, and misspelling a popular rapper’s name is not a great look for the popular game show.
During Monday night’s episode, contestant Kennise Miller attempted a guess a puzzle in the bonus round, under the “person” category.
Kennise was unable to identify the person, who turned out to be rapper Yung Joc, however it was spelled “Young Jock” on the board.
Viewers with rap knowledge were quick to call out Wheel of Fortune for getting it wrong, and many argued that Ms. Miller should have a redo.c
I totally agree with viewers — this is unfair! This is poor research on the show’s part!
Unless of course, the show meant just a “Young Jock” in which case… what is that?!
