Let me ask you something: are you a fan of staying at Airbnbs ? Well, I need to confess something. I’ve never actually rented one. Why? I don’t know. I guess I just don’t trust it as much as I do when you book a hotel room. And haven’t you heard about all those hidden cameras spotted at Airbnbs? That really creeps me out.
However, I have some good news for you. I’m going to tell you how to spot them, so you’re not paranoid next time you book your vacation. Let’s go!
Have you ever heard about people finding hidden cameras in Airbnbs?

If you have, you might want to avoid staying at an Airbnb overall. But if you’re the adventurous type, then listen up. I’m going to show you how you can make sure there are no hidden cameras in your room.
Here’s the first example of a hidden camera in an Airbnb.

Make sure you check out that fire alarm. Guess what? There could be a camera hiding inside. I know what you’re thinking. What? How can that be possible? Am I right? Well, it is, I’m afraid.
This is how you find the hidden camera.

One way to see if the device is a camera is to shine a bright light on it. What happens is that when you hit a camera lens, it’s going to give you a bluish reflection. Aha! This sounds easy enough.
Let’s move on to other hidden camera locations.

Make sure you inspect things like alarm clocks and USB chargers. It’s pretty easy to hide a camera inside of these objects. If you spot one of these, get the heck out of there, and fast.
What’s the next place to look in an Airbnb?

Oh, yeah! Look for mirrors, too. They, too, can contain hidden cameras. You can spot them if you see an unusual opening. Basically, any place where you can stick a tiny camera is suspicious. There could even be a hole in the wall.
Yikes!
Did I add more to your paranoia? Oh, I’m sorry. I’m just trying to warn you, that’s all. If you keep this in mind, it might be easier to spot one. And imagine how relieved you will feel when you don’t find anything? Check out this helpful video that somebody posted on TikTok. It explains this in more depth.
Needless to say, this video was quite eye-opening.

When people saw it, they sure had funny things to say about it. Some chimed in that it singlehandedly ruined their vacation stays. That’s a little dramatic, don’t you think?
The guy is just trying to warn people about the dangers of hidden cameras.

I don’t know about you, but I rather feel safe than be sorry later. At least now you can be more diligent when you stay at someone’s Airbnb . Do you get what I’m saying?
So does this make you feel better at staying at an Airbnb or worse?

I don’t know. I’m on the fence. I guess you have less chance of this happening at a legit hotel than renting somebody else’s place. But if you do end up booking an Airbnb, at least you know what to look for, huh? And, I, for one, can appreciate that.
