Many people live their lives hoping they will meet that perfect someone to settle down and marry. Millions of people feel that one of life’s biggest goals is to find that person to be with forever.
However, for every one person who wants to grow up and get married, there are those who feel the opposite. They feel as though they don’t need a partner to marry in order to be happy.
They don’t feel like it’s something “they need to do.”

haz3y_daz3y shared she is super single and super happy, however, the only regret that she did have was not being a parent. She felt as though the two went hand in hand, but otherwise, she wouldn’t get married now.
Men are just…men.
“I will never marry because unfortunately men just don’t get things. They’re rude, think they’re entitled to a woman’s body and/or attention, usually want an old-fashioned relationship where the woman is property, get mad because I won’t have sex with them due to Roe vs Wade being overturned,” said BerserkerOfBlade .
Who can blame her?
BriMagic shared that she values the time and the freedom that she has now. If she could find someone who would respect and value that, she’d be open to marriage. But, she knows it’s unfortunately not the case.
Happiness comes in different forms.
“I make decent money and so if I needed anything I can always buy it. I have an extremely healthy relationship with my parents and so I don’t feel like I necessarily need a man to complete my life,” said ToothFairy1942 .
Monogamy is not for everyone.
EmpMel shared that they do not trust monogamy and find marriage to be an absolute goal of hers. Instead, she enjoys having her own freedom over her love life and the ability to do what she pleases.
It’s all your own mess.
“I’m very satisfied, except that my living room is a mess right now and I need to do my dishes. Not satisfied with that at all, but at least it’s my mess and not someone else’s,” shared Reddit user thatgirlagain17 .
And the whole house is yours.
GlobularLobule shared that being unmarried means the entire house is your own. No one to have to share the bed with, the bathroom, or even the closet space. You get it all yourself.
It sounds awful.
“The idea of trying to fit in someone or having to start compromising sounds truly awful. I’d rather continue to be single then settle for anyone, just to be partnered up. I think more people need to find that in themselves,” said flickansomkomundan .
Some don’t see the need.

Priorities are best.

Too much time can be suffocating.
Another Twitter user said that the idea of living with someone else and having to be with them all of the time, it’s a scary thought to have. They enjoy their personal space, and honestly, who can blame them?
