J.K. Rowling forever changed the landscape of fantasy fiction when she introduced the world to Harry Potter . Hers is a legacy that has withstood the test of time and will continue to inspire readers and moviegoers for generations.
Among the seven Harry Potter books (and eight films), a clear favorite for many is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire . Now, Potterheads have even more reasons to be excited after a deleted scene recently resurfaced on Peacock .
Very few film franchises have made such a lasting pop cultural impact as ‘Harry Potter’.

It was as if J.K. Rowling cast a spell the very first moment that fans were introduced to the shared universe of witches and wizards; magic and muggles.
All of the films do a great job of bringing the books to life, but arguably none more so than ‘Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire’.

Highlights from The Goblet of Fire include the Quidditch World Cup, the Triwizard Tournament, as well as the return of the wizarding world’s most dastardly villain — Lord Voldemort.
Both the film, as well as the book, rank highly among fans of the beloved series/franchise.

Now, it appears that Potterheads may have even more reason to celebrate after a deleted scene from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was recently made available.
The deleted scene was discovered after the ‘Harry Potter’ movies made the move from HBO Max to Peacock in the United States.

It takes place immediately after the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students enter Hogwarts’ Great Hall. At this point, Headmaster Albus Dumbledore gathers the Hogwarts students together and they begin to sing.
But they don’t sing just any old tired song; oh no. The students begin belting out the Hogwarts school song!

In case you’ve forgotten, the lyrics go like this: “Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts, teach us something, please . Whether we be old and bald or young with scabby knees.”
“Our heads could do with filling, with some interesting stuff. For now, they’re bare and full of air, dead flies, and bits of fluff!”

“So teach us things worth knowing, bring back what we’ve forgot. Just do your best, we’ll do the rest, and learn until our brains all rot !”
With a whisk of his wand, Dumbledore makes the lyrics appear in the sky, out of nowhere, as the students happily sing out.

Everyone appears to be enjoying themselves, all except for Draco Malfoy of course (typical) — and the students from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons all appear somewhat unsettled and taken aback.
It’s a short albeit inconsequential moment that helps bring levity and a bit of humor to the film.

As it turns out, this is only one of several deleted scenes from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire that didn’t make the final cut.
Another shows three students from Durmstrang approaching two Slytherin students and one Gryffindor in the hallway.

The three boys make a friendly introduction and bow in unison. One steps forward to ask the Slytherin girl to attend the Yule Ball with him, as Harry and Ron look on from an adjacent hall in envy.
There’s also a scene wherein we see Cho Chang reading her school book in the hall in-between classes.

The school bell rings and Harry suddenly appears on the staircase just above her, presumably to ask her to the Yule Ball. Cho walks off with her friends, leaving Harry alone and dismayed.
Yet another memorable deleted scene features one of the most popular bands in the wizarding world — The Weird Sisters.
After a bit of beautifully choreographed dancing, Professor Flitwick appears on stage and introduces The Weird Sisters to the crowd. It’s easily the longest scene left on the cutting room floor and is heavily reminiscent of Back to the Future .
A personal favorite is a scene that’s lifted directly from the pages of the book.

After stepping outside to get some air, Harry stumbles upon Professor Snape and Durmstrang Headmaster, Igor Karkaroff, having a heated discussion in the courtyard.
Karkaroff looks visibly shaken and is pressing Snape into a conversation — the likes of which he has zero interest.

Fans will no doubt recall that both Snape and Karkaroff were, at one point, Death Eaters. And that before Voldemort makes his eventual return, the Death Eater mark branded on each of their arms begins to glow .
Finally, there’s a moment of revelation that takes place during an interaction between Barty Crouch and Mad-Eye Moody.

Mad-Eye interrupts a conversation between Harry and Barty Crouch by saying, “Bartemius! Not trying to lure Potter into one of the Ministry’s summer internships, are we? The last boy who went into the Department of Mysteries never came out!”
Made-Eye is referring to his own unfortunate circumstance. For as it’s later revealed, the man we believed to be Mad-Eye Moody is really Barty Crouch Jr.!
How many more deleted scenes from Harry Potter movies could there be? Hopefully, in time, they’ll remove their respective invisibility cloaks and allow themselves to be seen in all their glory.
