Many parents try to prepare themselves when they are about to have a baby .
When they find out that they are going to give birth, parents do absolutely everything that they can to prep and get themselves ready to become parents. But, when you’re about to have two kids, or even three, things can be a little more complicated to prepare for.
Having twins is certainly like winning the lottery.

When parents are having twins, many see it as having “double the blessings.” Having two kids can be a lot to handle, for many new parents.
However, there are many who are excited and anticipate having two bundles of joy to bring home.
When having twins, a lot of things can happen.

Many assume that twins are only seconds or even moments apart when the birthing process goes down.
Sometimes, twins can be born on different dates just because of the timing when they are born.
There are many different reasons why twins are born days apart.

Sometimes, it’s due to the simple natural birthing process, where one twin is born late at night and it rolls into early the following day.
Other times, it’s because there are early premature births and the other twin is kept in the womb longer.
But, what do you do when your twins are born on New Year’s Eve?

Having twins born on two different days is something that can happen pretty often, but it’s not so often that you have twins that are born in two different years.
However, it’s not totally impossible to have it happen.
Apparently, there are about 120,000 twins born in the United States every year.

This makes up about 3% of children born.
According to a press release, different date births are rare, but being born in different years is one in 2 million.
According to a press release from Navidad Hospitals in Monterey County, these twins are a year apart.

According to a recent press release from Monterey County’s Navidad Medical Group, the twins were born on New Year’s Eve, with one being born before midnight and one being born after midnight.
This makes the twins a year apart, logistically.
Their birth is extremely rare for twins.

Fatima Madrigal, the mother of the twins, gave birth just 15 minutes apart.
One was born in 2021, and the other was born in 2022. It makes their birth extremely rare in that they were born on different days, months, and years.
The first baby was born at 11:45 PM.

Alfredo Antonio Trujillo, delivered first of the set of twins, at 11:45 pm on Dec. 31, 2021.
His twin, Aylin Yolanda Trujillo, entered the world exactly at midnight on Sunday, Jan. 1, making her the first baby born at Natividad Medical Group and in Monterey County in 2022.
The mom was totally surprised.

“It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight,” mom Fatima Madrigal said in the press release from Navidad hospital services.
Many people were also surprised, like the mother.

“This was definitely one of the most memorable deliveries of my career. It was an absolute pleasure to help these little ones arrive here safely in 2021 and 2022. What an amazing way to start the New Year,” said Dr. Ana Abril Arias, a family doctor at Natividad Medical Group and faculty at Natividad.
The hospital tweeted that they were excited to be part of this experience.

The hospital and medical group tweeted out that they were so happy to be part of the rare experience for this set of twins and their mom who welcomed their babies into the world.
Congratulations to the new parents!
