President Donald Trump has cleared the air about his recent hospital visit after his health made headlines across the US.
People were concerned for his health
Trump had made the news over health concerns after a ‘large bruise’ was spotted on his hand earlier this year, with it also looking like his team had tried to cover it up with makeup at the time.
He was then diagnosed with CVI
It was then announced that the President, 79, had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition that means his leg veins have become damaged or don’t work as they once used to.
He also made a hospital visit earlier this month, as announced by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
She said he was doing a routine check up
Leavitt said earlier this month that Trump would be visiting the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for his routine health checkup.
“President Trump will stop by for his routine yearly check up. He will then return to the White House. President Trump is considering going to the Middle East shortly thereafter,” she said at the time.
He also visited it in April
Despite Leavitt’s statement, it was also reported by CNN that Trump had visited the hospital in April, a trip that the White House described as his ‘annual physical examination’.
Now, speaking to the press onboard Air Force One on Monday, October 27, Trump shared why he was at the hospital recently.
Trump visited on October 10
The President said he underwent tests on his October 10 visit to Walter Reed, and revealed that he underwent an MRI scan.
According to the Cleveland Clinic, an MRI scan is a ‘test that creates clear images of the structures inside your body using a large magnet, radio waves and a computer’.
He revealed the details of his visit
The POTUS told reporters, “I gave you the full results. We had an MRI, and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect.”
But he declined to share why he underwent the scan, adding, “Nobody has ever given you reports like I gave you.”
Trump isn’t concerned about it
“And if I didn’t think it was going to be good, either, I would let you know negatively, I wouldn’t run, I’d do something,” he went on to reporters.
Trump also doesn’t seem to be worried for his own health, adding, “The doctor said some of the best reports for the age, some of the best reports they’ve ever seen.”
