US President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to be ‘heaven-bound’ but doesn’t think he’ll ‘make’ it there.
He spoke about it this week
Trump was asked a question about his August statements regarding his attempts to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine while speaking to the press aboard Air Force One on Sunday, October 12.
While answering, he said, “If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that’s pretty — I want to try to get to heaven if possible.”
But he doesn’t think he’ll make it
About his previous comments, the 79-year-old President said, per People, “I’m being a little cute.”
“I don’t think there’s anything going to get me in heaven,” he continued. “I really don’t. I think I’m not maybe heaven-bound. I may be in heaven right now as we fly on Air Force One.”
He went on about Russia and Ukraine
“I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make heaven, but I’ve made life a lot better for a lot of people,” Trump added.
The President went on to say that ‘had the election of 2020 not been rigged,’ he could’ve prevented the invasion of Ukraine.
Trump blamed the previous administration
“We had an incompetent administration. We had an incompetent president. And because of a crooked election, millions of people are dead,” Trump told the press, referring to former President Joe Biden.
“And by the way, the Israeli thing was much harder to get settled because of the past administration,” he added.
He positioned himself as a mediator
Speaking to Fox & Friends on August 19, Trump explained why he was taking action to end the war in Ukraine as he described himself as a mediator between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents.
Trump believes he was the reason many were saved
Speaking to the Fox News hosts over the phone, Trump said, “If I can save 7,000 people a week from being killed, I think that’s pretty — I want to try to get to heaven if possible.”
He spoke about ‘getting into heaven’ again
“I’m hearing that I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole,” Trump continued, which elicited laughter from the show hosts.
“But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons,” he added.
