Evictions are never pretty, but it’s safe to say some are handled worse than others. For example, when one eviction endangers the other tenants of a building, that’s not a cool way to handle things.
A series of TikToks show how one building was handling an eviction by throwing the person’s belongings off their balcony, causing a major hazard for anyone walking by.
A series of now-viral TikToks shows a rather disturbing eviction process.

“Well, my slumlord strikes again,” says Cam, user @softscorpio on TikTok, as the opener to the first video. She goes on to explains that a woman on the third floor of her building is being evicted, and currently, some maintenance people are in that apartment throwing the woman’s belongings off the balcony.
“It’s a complete safety hazard.”

She describes how various items have been bouncing around and causing debris to fly out, creating danger for anyone who could be walking by.
She then notes that she’d been recording from her own balcony for a while, but as soon as the people above heard her, they stopped throwing things. “It’s insane to me!”
She uploaded an update later that same day.

She recalls having seen a few more items being thrown, including glass items, and recalls a conversation with a neighbor who was walking her dog who also agreed that this is unsafe.
Cam then explains that there’s a playground just feet from where these items are being thrown, meaning it’s not only a danger to the tenants of that specific building, but any children who come to play nearby.
A third video documents another conversation.

This one is also with a dog-owning neighbor. You can see the dog walk near the pile, and when he gets too close, Cam warns the owner about what’s been going on. The owner calls the ordeal “outrageous”.
This series of videos garnered quite a bit of attention.
The first video sports just under 320k views, and the last has over 550k. The comments were filled with debates around how this was being handled.
Some criticized Cam for not calling the police, to which she responded, “[…] they won’t do anything. [Plus I’m] not going to have cops involved in a situation where a single black mother is losing housing. […] I feel like getting cops involved would only be negative.”
The rest were mostly critiques over things being thrown.
Some people told stories of similar situations where people almost got hurt, while others theorized that this was a warning to other tenants that the landlord is evicting people. Overall, most everyone agreed that this was a horrible way to treat someone’s belongings and was a total disregard for the safety of others around.
Cam was advised by many to escalate and try to get someone in trouble for this, but there have been no updates since, so who knows what she did with the footage besides upload it to TikTok.
