One of America’s most listened-to radio personalities passed away at age 70 on Wednesday, as reported by TMZ .
Limbaugh, who started his radio career in the ’70s, was best known for hosting “The Rush Limbaugh Show,” which has been in national syndication since 1988 and made him one of the premier voices of the conservative movement for three decades.
The 70-year-old announced his lung cancer diagnosis a year ago.
However, his condition worsened recently and Limbaugh’s family reported the radio personality died on February 17, 2021.
Now, it has been announced that a new scholarship has been created in Limbaugh’s honor.
Speaking with TMZ, Ed Boran and Sue Boulhosa, the President and Executive Director of the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation, explained to the news outlet that organization regularly gives $35,000 scholarships to children who lost a parent serving in the Marines or a federal law enforcement agency.
TMZ reports that MC-LEF will launch a Rush Limbaugh Memorial “Giant of Philanthropy” Scholarship in his honor.
The $35,000 scholarship will go to 12 to 20 families who have lost loved ones in the police or military.
