Since pregnancy means literally growing a miniature human inside of your own body, it makes sense that it comes with a lot of strange side effects like hormonal imbalance and food cravings. But the cravings of one mom-to-be landed her in hot water, and she took to the internet to ask if she had been wrong for eating directly out of the tub.
Posting to Reddit’s popular Am I the Asshole sub, a user who goes by little__mouse__ asked, ” AITA for eating ice cream directly out of the tub? ” As per usual internet fashion, plenty of Redditors had plenty of opinions on the matter.

More or less, OP is wondering if she was wrong or if the goddaughter was at fault.
As she states, OP’s mother-in-law bought the tubs of ice cream after asking OP what she was craving while pregnant. OP ate out of the tub, assuming no one else wanted any of the ice cream. It wasn’t until after the goddaughter saw her do it that it became a problem and escalated to the point where she was brought to tears.

Many users believed that OP was being unsanitary by eating directly out of the tub and not considering that others may have wanted some of the ice cream.

OP was asked a ton of questions, including how big the tubs were. She clarified that they were only about a pint large rather than a gallon or anything like that. She also added that there were multiple tubs in the freezer , and the goddaughter could’ve easily had one.
With the new information, many users began changing their opinion on the situation.
As it turns out, OP may not have been as guilty as she first seemed.
One user broke down all the new information OP shared in the comments, including how OP had been considerate in asking if anyone else wanted ice cream. Still, there were multiple pints in the house when the goddaughter arrived.
