Let’s face it, everyone loves a good backstory . When it comes to photos, a backstory can make it so much better. Maybe it’ll warm your heart, make you cry , or amuse you a little.

I think this is such a beautiful tradition. Like, not only do these parents get to show off how talented their kid is, but they get to send such unique and special Christmas cards, too.

I guess it would be too much of a stretch to hope that this same doctor would be around to deliver this person’s future grandkids. But still, talk about a full-circle moment.

Okay, I’ll admit that if I found a mouse in a gutter, I’d probably just scream and run away. But these people went out and gave this one a new lease on life. How cute (from a distance)!

The one cool thing about moving out of the city or suburbs is that you get to see all sorts of cool animals hanging around your house. Today a deer, but maybe tomorrow a bear (okay, hopefully not a bear).

I guess when you’re a river guide, you get to meet all sorts of people. Even Charles Duke, one of the astronauts from the Apollo 16 mission. Talk about having a cool job! And being an astronaut ain’t so bad, either!

It’s so funny how most toys these days need internet connection in some way. But with a few toys out there, what you see is what you get. Being disconnected every once in a while isn’t such a bad thing.

The look on this person’s face may not be one of pure joy, but just think about all the good work she’s done. Hopefully next time those roots will have a bit more time to set before duty calls.

Ah yes, the mall. Thanks to online shopping, they probably won’t ever be as big as they once were. Which really sucks, because they’re kind of the perfect hangout space, even if you aren’t there to buy anything.

When people say that online friends aren’t real friends, show them this. The internet may have its downsides, but it brings people together from all over the world. And Xbox too, I guess. The point is, thanks to the internet (and video games!), this was possible.

Okay, this one hit me right in the feels. As much as it must be horrible losing the person you spent so many years with, the fact that you got to spend all that time with them is truly special.

Depression is such a difficult thing to deal with, and it definitely isn’t as easy as just deciding to be happy one day. But small steps like going out for a hike can really turn things around. These pictures are full of nothing but pure hope.

They often say not to meet your heroes, but I think in this case it worked out pretty well. And to be honest, this is kind of a big deal. I mean, how often do you get to have Arnold Schwarzenegger hold your art?

I think that this kid was doomed whether or not they hid that report card (I mean, the fact that they probably had to redo 8th grade would’ve come out eventually).
It’s funny to see that the kinds of struggles we’ve all faced (like failing a class) have been faced throughout different generations.

Yeah, this has got to be super upsetting. But I’m also wondering why they had to go and destroy the whole house. Wouldn’t knocking on the door be a good start?

I think this might be the nicest letter I’ve ever seen. I’ve never once had the desire to send a thank-you note to someone who sold me something online, but this is making me think twice about that.

Once again, the internet shows that it can be a great place. Thanks to Reddit of all places, one person got to buy themselves food for their household. What can be better than that?

This just goes to show you how far a little kindness can go. This landlord didn’t have to do this, but because they did, this person got an amazing gift. It almost brings a tear to your eye.

I’m not gonna lie, this reminds me a lot of the movie Up . Hopefully all those balloons don’t pick her up and float her all the way to South America.

This just shows you how important our pets really are to us. Even when they’re no longer with us, their memory will last a lifetime.
