I’m such a fan of people who DIY . After all, it’s much better to make something unique than buy something that’s mass-produced.
But what impresses me, even more, is when folks keep others in mind when they create something. That’s exactly what these creative minds did here, and we should salute them for it.
1. This Incredible Gesture
Most communities can frown upon homeless people in the area but not this one. People from this neighborhood actually built a tiny home village for the homeless population. Wow, I have no words. Isn’t this absolutely incredible?
2. This Dog House
This Redditor said that his parents live in the woods where people come out and abandon their dogs. So, they built their two rescues, an actual house with a dog door on the side. They’re also planning on running power for a fan and heater. Bravo!
3. This Parklet
This man built a “parklet” which is basically a small park in a parking spot. Even though he had to modify his design to get to approved by the city council, this new and improved version looks even better to me!
4. This Squirrel Feeder
Do you get a lot of squirrels in your backyard? We definitely do. I should ask my fiancé to build them a little feeding picnic table like this, eh? I think they would really enjoy it.
5. This Beautiful Lady
“My mom is a retired nurse. She made 70 Easter cards for random hospice patients. No two cards are the same. I think these cards are going to be just the right thing for the hospice patients after such an uncomfortable year.” Oh, that’s such a sweet gift!
6. This Wonderful Kid
“Teenager, Darius Brown, makes bow ties for shelter dogs and cats to help them get adopted. He has made it his mission to help as many dogs and cats in the world as he can.” Oh my!
7. These Two Dads
“Early in the pandemic, two dads found themselves at home. They challenged each other to a cookie bakeoff and invited first responders to be the judges. Since then, more than 100 bakers have joined in. They’ve made more than 15,000+ cookies and cakes for essential workers.”
8. This Kind Neighbor
It must be so hard for homeless people during the heatwave. So this kind person in the neighborhood set up a free water station for anybody in need. There’s also a hose so people can rinse off. Oh my goodness, that’s so nice.
9. This Neighbourly Gesture
If you’re lucky to have a big garden, I bet you’ll have plenty of excess vegetables. Am I right? So, this man built a stand like this one to give away extra vegetables to his neighbors. What a guy, huh?
10. This Camp Out
Check out this cool story a Redditor shared, “I am living in a not-so-great neighborhood. The kids next door had never had a fire/been camping/made s’mores… So we did this.” Awe, I bet the kids totally loved it.
11. This Fellow Jogger
If you’ve ever lost your keys while jogging, you know it’s no fun. This lady lost hers and was going out of her mind. When she went back to the area, she found somebody left this for her to discover. Wow!
12. This Generous Crocheter
Crocheters are a special bunch. Aren’t they? This fantastic lady made a donation to her local shelter. She actually brought a bag full of winter hats she crocheted herself. Acts of kindness like these bring a tear to my eye.
13. These Helpful Construction Workers
How do you ensure that little ducks can get to a water source? Well, if you’re cool construction workers, you set up a ramp just like this one. Oh my gosh, that’s so sweet of them.
It’s amazing to see that there are so many kind and generous souls out there.
If there were more sweet gestures like these, the world would be a better place for all of us. Have you ever done something like this before?
