2022 has been a great year for Netflix subscribers. In a year that’s brought us The Sandman , Dahmer, and The Watcher , suffice it to say that choosing a favorite is quite the ordeal .
Recently, another brand-new mini-series made its Netflix debut , and it has the potential to be the best one yet. I’m of course talking about the BBC’s Inside Man , starring David Tenant and Stanley Tucci.
What makes a murderer?

Is it a glitch in our genetic makeup or the way that we were raised? Perhaps murderers played an abundance of violent video games in their youth, listened to too much heavy metal, or even worse — gangster rap music.
But what if what makes a murderer was something far more sinister, lying just beneath the surface waiting to strike?

According to the new BBC crime series, Inside Man , every single one of us is (or has the potential to be) a murderer. We just simply haven’t met the right person to bring it out.
It’s a startling thought — that all that separates us from the very worst society has to offer is one bad day.

Yet it’s this very revelation that makes Inside Man such an intriguing watch. In this universe, murderers are everyday people. Everyone is capable of killing, and perhaps — so too are you.
The series stars David Tenant as an English priest and Stanley Tucci as a death row inmate.

What do a priest and a prisoner have in common, you’re probably asking yourself? The answer is much more than you could possibly imagine.
‘Inside Man’ was created by showrunner Steven Moffat, who fans may recall from his time spent on ‘Doctor Who’.

The Netflix description reads, “An American death row prisoner with a sideline in solving mysteries helps a young British journalist search for a friend who’s suddenly disappeared.”
As if that wasn’t enticing enough, the fact that both Tenant and Tucci are at the top of their respective games should warrant consideration.

So far, the reviews have been raving that Inside Man has all the makings of Netflix’s next great streaming series.
“BBC’s ‘Inside Man’ is one bonkers series,” writes Twitter user @adammcgilchrist.

“I just binged all 4 episodes, and I don’t know what to make out of it. One thing is for sure Stanley Tucci (He is so hot! Make that 2 things) and David Tennant’s acting is top-class , as always.”
Oh, and I forgot to mention — ‘Inside Man’ is only four episodes.

Only four episodes?! That means that you easily take down the whole series in a single evening! What could be better than that? Certainly not watching Friends or The Office for the hundredth time.
As good as the show undeniably is, it can also be frustrating at times.
Doing the right thing is seldom easy. We all like to play the armchair expert and extoll upon how we would’ve done it differently, but when push comes to shove — that often isn’t the case.
There are of course those who disagree entirely and feel that the show comes up lacking.

“Inside Man on Netflix is so bad[sic]… over exaggerated and quite predictable ,” Twitter user @MathildaSanonThis tweeted out scathingly. “Whole mess could’ve and should’ve been avoided.”
So while the internet appears divided on whether they love it or hate it, one thing is for certain — ‘Inside Man’ is addicting as h**l.

Netflix has been knocking it out of the park when it comes to psychological thrillers and Inside Man is no exception. Regardless of opinion, it will keep you watching (and guessing) until the bitter end.
