Taylor Swift took to Instagram yesterday to make a few key announcements on a live stream, and Lindsay Lohan was stanning TF out of her in the comments — not that I blame her. Who doesn’t love Taylor? (Besides Kim and Kanye obvs).
Nonetheless, it was the weirdest and most hilarious thing I’ve seen all week.
Okay, so, yesterday Taylor Swift started a live-stream on Instagram to make a couple important announcements.
The first one being, that she has a new album coming out ( yass!! ) called “Lover”.
Secondly, she just dropped a new single — and it’s. A. Bop.
The song is called “You Need To Calm Down”, which is the greatest song title I think I’ve ever heard?
She dropped the lyric video for it yesterday and it’s everything I never knew I needed.
Definitely go listen to it when you’re done reading this.
You won’t regret it.
Thirdly, she announced that she will be releasing an official music video for it soon.
Obviously, Taylor fans were freaking tf out (as was I, but that’s beside the point).
One fan in particular seemed really excited about all this news.
For reasons that we have yet to uncover, Lindsay Lohan was living for Taylor’s live-stream.
She began spamming the comments section — leaving literally everybody confused af.
Not totally sure if she was trying just trolling, or if she was genuinely fan-girling.
Nobody knows.
The comments ranged from heart-eye emoji to “my mom was in cats” — yeah, it got weird.
And as much as we would have loved her to, Taylor did not respond to any of it.
At first, it seemed totally harmless. Just another fan applauding and supporting Taylor for her talents — completely justified.
But then she started making some demands.
She continued, urging Taylor to respond to the comments.
It’s really ironic that T-Swift’s new song is called “You Need To Calm Down” because I think Lindsay really needed to calm down.
This is where things got confusing?
Okay, Lindsay. Thanks for contributing and letting everybody know that your mom was in the musical Cats . This is very valuable and useful information.
Naturally, fans were like, wtf?
We’re all just wondering where Lindsay was going with this?
The whole thing was very unexpected. Especially the part about her mom being in Cats …?
I mean, it’s nice to see that Lindsay supporting Taylor Swift.
She reacted like any Taylor stan would — I can respect that. No shame in the T-Swizzle game.
Most fans thought the whole thing was hilarious.
They’re definitely not wrong, It was entertaining.
Not to mention, we learned that Lindsay comes from a musical family. A great fun-fact.
Neither Taylor or Lindsay have addressed the comments — but I really hope they do.
Although, Taylor tends not to pay much mind to these types of things. She’s too busy blowing our minds with her new music.
