Who here is a great cook ? Not to brag, but I would count myself amongst those as well. Over the years, I have perfected many recipes , and I’m always looking to get my meals done faster and more efficiently.
That’s why I’m a huge fan of kitchen #LifeHacks . So you’re in luck because I’m about to share with you some of my favorites.
1. This Cooking Oil Hack
Who else struggles with that big bottle of cooking oil when it’s time to pour it out? Ugh! Did you realize you can actually transfer some into a soy sauce container for easy pouring? Why haven’t I thought of that? Duh!
2. This Potato Wedges Slicing Hack
I have to admit I love making potato wedges, but it’s hard to slice them all evenly. However, I just found out that you can use an apple slicer to do it. OMG, that’s pretty genius, no?
3. This Cookie Hack
Okay, who loves soft cookies? So how do you keep them from going hard after baking them? Apparently, if you put a slice of white bread inside the container with the cookies, it will do the trick. Aha!
4. This Freezing Hack
Who likes to make a big batch of pesto? We just splurged on a Vitamix, so I can see myself doing that. But you can’t eat it all. Am I right? So instead, freeze single servings in an egg carton. Wow, that’s pretty brilliant.
5. This Soup Started Idea
Similarly, you can also get ahead of your soup prep. Chop all your fresh veggies like carrots, celery, and onion and freeze them in ziplock bags. Then take them out when it’s time to make soup and voilà.
6. This Butter Softening Hack
Don’t you hate it when a recipe calls for softened butter, but you forgot to take it out of the fridge? No worries. Just cut it up into small pieces, and it will soften up in about 20 minutes. That’s right!
7. This Air Fryer Trick
Who loves using their air fryer to make easy meals? Oh yes, that’s me, ha, ha! But do you miss that golden hue? Well, to get that, all you need is to spray your food lightly with cooking spray beforehand.
8. This Fridge Inventory Idea
Here’s an awesome idea I just found out about here. Write on your fridge what is inside, so you know exactly what you have, and you can avoid waste. I need to start doing that ASAP. How about you?
9. This Egg Warming Tip
Many recipes call for room-temperature food such as eggs. So how do you do that if you just took them out of the fridge? It’s easy. Just put them in a bowl of warm water for a few minutes.
10. This Cooking Pot Hack
Sometimes you need to use a pot that doesn’t come with a lid. And that can be a pain. But I just discovered the most genius hack somebody posted on Reddit. Look at that and learn, ha, ha!
11. This Cheese Grating Tip
Who loves grated cheese? It’s so good for many recipes. But it tends to stick when you try to grate it, no? You can avoid this by spraying a little cooking spray on your grater beforehand. Nice!
12. This Cake Storage Hack
Do you ever struggle to get that leftover cake out of the container? I hear you loud and clear. So do this instead. Flip your Tupperware upside down and use the lid as the bottom. Genius, right?
13. This Space-Saver Hack
Is it just me, or does everybody do that? I cut the cooking instructions out instead of keeping the entire box in my freezer. It really saves you so much room. You should definitely try that.
14. “This is how I let my toast cool, so one side doesn’t get soggy.”
This “toast tent” is a great way to ensure that the steam from your toast won’t make the bread soggy. I always hate it when that happens, so I’ll need to try this hack next time I’m making breakfast!
Okay, so you might not be a master chef after reading all these kitchen hacks.
But I’m sure they will come in handy next time you’re prepping something to eat. At least I hope so, ha, ha! But if you have another cooking tip feel free to share it with all of us.
