It’s hard to believe it’s been 27 years since the world lost beloved artist and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. While the music industry has been paying homage to the legendary musician, rapper Kid Cudi took his tribute to the stage during his appearance as the musical guest on Saturay Night Live this past weekend.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 27 years since Kurt Cobain died at the age of 27 on April 5th, 1994.

His legacy will forever be engraved in music fans around the world and his passion for creative and artistic freedom will be one of his most lasting memories.
His influence is still felt with musicians today, and rapper Kid Cudi made that clear when he paid tribute to him while performing on *SNL* this past weekend.
Wearing a floral dress, inspired by the one Kurt wore on the cover of The Face magazine in 1993, the 37-year-old immediately started trending online.
Giving a shoutout to designer Virgil Abloh on Twitter, the rapper wrote:
“Virgil designed the dress for me. I told him I wanted to show love to Kurt w a floral print sundress and this man made a masterpiece. Thank You @virgilabloh ur a [expletive] genius!! Love you man we did it!!!”
Of course, some people didn’t understand the significance of Kid Cudi’s outfit.
However, it’s clear the importance of raising awareness for suicide prevention and honoring the late artist was more important than the potentially hateful comments.
In addition to the floral frock, Kid Cudi also paid tribute by wearing a cardigan very similar to the one wore by Kurt during Nirvana’s infamous *MTV’s Unplugged* special.
What an awesome way to honor an artist that has inspired so many.
Way to go, Kid Cudi!
