Rapper Kanye West has closed his X/Twitter account after going on a rant about Taylor Swift during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime show at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
He thanks Musk before leaving
Just before he deleted his account, West had written on the social media platform owned by Elon Musk: “I’m logging out of Twitter. I appreciate Elon for allowing me to vent. It has been very cathartic to use the world as a sounding board. It was like an Ayahuasca trip. Love all of you who gave me your energy and attention. To we connect again. Good afternoon and good night.”

The rapper is no stranger to making headlines, with him recently going viral for his wife’s indecent outfit at the 2025 Grammys, going on a rant online that included stating his support for Hitler and Nazis, and buying an ad at the Super Bowl that he filmed on his phone.
West’s history with Swift
The rapper has a history of making swipes at Taylor Swift, with his first move being at the 2009 VMAs when Swift won an award for Best Female Video and he got on stage to claim that she didn’t deserve it.
More recently, right before his appearance at the 2025 Grammys, he had unfollowed everyone on Instagram except Swift, which had many wondering if he was reviving the beef.
He ended his rant with a comment on Swift
West had been on a horrific 4-day-long social media racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic rant before he ended it with a comment on Taylor Swift during Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show.
West made a jibe at Swift
He wrote on his now deleted account: “IF ITS ABOUT THE CULTURE … WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN AND ACCUSING OF THINGS THAT CAN TAKE A BLACK MAN DOWN FOR LIFE.”
He also insulted Lamar
The rapper didn’t stop his rant at Swift, but also dragged Kendrick Lamar into his hate spree, writing, “KENDRICK IS BEING USED BY THESE WHITE PEOPLE AND JEWS AND SO AM I.”
He hinted at cryptic communication and showed desperate measures to keep his social media alive, “AS I TWEET IN CODE WORDS AD KISS ELONS A** AND BEG HIM TO NOT CANCEL MY ACCOUNT.”
The rapper went on an antisemitic rant
As reported by the Mirror US, He followed his comments about Swift and Lamar with another antisemitic rant, where he expressed a wish to desensitize the public to conversations about Hitler: “I’m going to normalize talking about Hitler they way talking about killing nazis has been normalized.”
West also said he won’t apologize
The rapper also stated in a tweet that he would never apologize for his antisemitic comments, before people started calling for his account to be deleted.
He wrote: “IM NEVER APOLOGIZING FOR MY JEWISH COMMENTS I CAN WHATEVER THE F*** I WANNA SAY FOREVER WHERES MY F*****G APOLOGY FOR FREEZING MY ACCOUNTS S**K MY D*** HOWS THAT FOR AN APOLOGY.”
West was then apparently unfollowed by Elon Musk, and he closed his account after the 4-day-long heinous rant.
