One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer has been open with fans about her husband, Mike Caussin’s, sex addiction since 2019. The couple hasn’t been shy and shared the highs and lows of Mike’s addiction in a series of tell-all interviews as well as on their podcast, Whine Down.
Now, Jana is revealing when she plans on telling their kids her husband cheated on her.
As fans may recall, Jana and Mike’s tied the knot back in 2016.
Jana first learned of her husband’s numerous affairs when she was pregnant with their first child, daughter Jolie.
The couple decided to work through their issues after a brief separation while Mike attended a rehabilitation program.
Jana has admitted previously that she had flings while her husband was in treatment.
“I justified my actions in my mind just as I suppose Mike had done all along too,” she revealed.
Now, the pair has made it their mission to share Mike’s sex addiction and their recovery story with the public.
Jana and Mike are no strangers to scandals. One of the most controversial moments occurred when Jana celebrated the anniversary of her husband’s infidelity this past summer.
“As Mike shared in his Mike Monday today, yesterday marked 4 years since the discovery of his affairs,” Jana captioned a photo of the two.
“Holy hell was 4 years ago the worst day of both of our lives and damn did our world literally explode.”
“But last night was the first time on this day that we were closer than ever. Sure, there were some tears but the connection was stronger than it’s ever been.”
“I’m so thankful for the way Mike leaned in with empathy. That makes all the difference. Today’s podcast we answered some really tough emails and had some great conversations about addiction. You’re not alone,” she concluded.
Despite claiming to have moved forward, Jana has said multiple times that she doesn’t totally trust her husband.
More recently, she and blogger Perez Hilton got into an online confrontation when the 42-year-old told Jana to just divorce her husband already.
As per usual, Jana fought back.
“We are open because we are helping people do the work to become stronger just like we have. So no thanks. Not gonna divorce a good man,” she clapped back.
These details and more were documented in the pair’s recently published book, “The Good Fight.”
Now, Jana is revealing how she plans on telling their children about Mike’s infidelities before they find out from someone else online.
While talking to *Us Weekly* for its Moms Like Us segment, Jana revealed that she wants her kids Jolie, 5, and Jace, 2 to hear the news firsthand.
“We’ve definitely talked about it. When Jolie gets to the age where she can Google — I don’t know what age that’s going to be — we’re gonna sit her down,” Jana explained .
Jana went on to explain she has had advice from friends who have been in similar situations.
“I have someone I know … her dad cheated on her mom, and they’re still married. She told me how they did it,” Jana said.
“They sat her down, and it was like, ‘Hey, this is what Daddy did. But Daddy loves Mommy so much.'”
