It’s always a roll of the dice when parents have multiple children as they never really know how well the siblings will get along.
And while it’s common for parents of identical twins to dress them the same, that reality is just as true for them as we often find that they’ll have very different personalities, tastes, and aspirations.

Nonetheless, it’s not exactly unheard of for some twins to do everything together and have a lot more in common than ways in which they differ. This was particularly true in the case of one pair who ended up starting families with another set of identical twins.
But if that already seemed like a one-in-a-million case of worlds colliding, just wait until you hear how things turned out for two very close sisters.
A year after Erin Cheplak of Yorba Linda, California married her husband in a ceremony made smaller by the pandemic, they decided to have a larger celebration.
And as Good Morning America reported , she was awoken by a phone call on the morning of that celebration from her twin sister, Jill Justiniani. She had called to tell Cheplak she was pregnant.
As Cheplak put it, “I screamed and woke up my husband. It was such an exciting time.”
And it was about to get more exciting because while she was on her honeymoon in the Maldives, Cheplak would make her own early morning call to her sister and break the same news.
Since the two were always close and became pregnant at around the same time, their husbands joked that they’d give birth on the same day.
However, this seemed unlikely because Justiniani was scheduled for a caesarean section for May 5, while Cheplak was supposed to be induced on May 15.
Yet it seems fate would take their husbands’ jokes seriously on the morning of May 5, when Cheplak experienced what she initially thought were butterflies in her stomach for her sister.
But before long, she would find herself in the same delivery unit as Justiniani.
In Cheplak’s words, “I called my husband and was like, ‘I’m not joking. I think my water just broke.'”
Since Justiniani’s C-section was postponed by a few hours, both sisters were able to visit each other’s hospital rooms; a fitting epilogue to the way they had supported each other at each step of their pregnancies.
As Justiniani put it, “We’ve just been so close and so inseparable, it made complete sense in a very odd way.”
Not only was Cheplak’s son Silas born with just enough time to have the same birthday as his cousin Oliver, but Justiniani and Cheplak were discharged from the hospital at the exact same time two days later.
Weirder still, both sons weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces, and measured 20 inches at birth.
Justiniani and Cheplak now live five minutes away from each other and also both work as pediatric occupational therapists. As People reported , this career choice inspired by the tragic fate of their younger sister who lived with an unspecified rare genetic disorder.
In Cheplak’s words, “I think that’s another thing that naturally brought us closer together. I think God had the perfect plan of Jill and I being identical twins and really leaning on each other.”
