Sometimes, strange combinations just work. Chocolate covered chips are delicious. Bacon-wrapped mashed potatoes are amazing. Whoever first thought of putting pineapple on pizza was a genius.
It doesn’t just apply to food, either. Celebrity strange pairings can be just as amazing.
Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.
For example: everyone knows Guy Fieri.
The platinum haired, goatee-wearing, and downright just plain delightful host of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, has been a staple on our television screens and in the food world for years. On top of that, he’s also just a generally good person with a great attitude.
Everyone also knows Bill Murray.

The Ghostbusters star is equally as famous for his top-notch comedic and dramatic acting abilities as he is for his quirky oddball actions and random appearances where you least expect him.
Knowing that, what I’m about to tell you is going to make a lot more sense.
The two will be competing in a nacho-making contest to raise money for Fieri’s Restaurant Employee Relief Fund.

The event, called (of course) “The Nacho Average Showdown” will be airing on the Food Network’s Facebook page on May 15th at 5pm Eastern and will feature (obviously!) Shaquille O’Neal as one of the judges.
“My entire career has been in the restaurant business,” Fieri said.

“I’ve also spent the better part of the last 15 years traveling this great country meeting other folks who’ve dedicated their lives to this business, and let me tell you something, they are the hardest working, most real deal workers you’ve ever met… the heartbeats of their communities. But they need our help and with the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund, we can serve up some support when these restaurant employees need it most… right now,” Fieri said .
Sounds like a lot of fun for a good cause!
I think I’m going to have to put my money on Guy for this one (have you seen his garbage can nachos?) but it looks like this is shaping up to be the nacho-match of the century. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments below!
