A lot of the time, the best idea is something that’s actually super simple. So simple , in fact, that you can’t help but be surprised that no one thought of these sooner.
Like, how have these ideas not been everywhere yet? They’re all so cool, and could probably change the way we do a lot of different things. Nothing but pure genius in this list.
“My ruler has a raised end so it’s easier to pick up.”

You’d think someone would’ve thought of this sooner. Like, really. I get that rulers being flat is kind of the whole point, since that’s how you get an accurate measurement. But this little raised tab changes the game. I think I might need one.
“Best Choice has already broken noodles in half for when you’re too lazy to do it yourself.”

For those of us who have small pots, or who just like shorter pieces of pasta, this is a win. Who has time to break all that pasta apart, anyway? Plus, it never ends up even. This’ll take all the guesswork out of it.
“This envelope made from an upcycled map.”

There are plenty of ways to recycle paper, but this is one that I never thought about. But it really does make sense, especially for shipping companies or people who go through a lot of envelopes.
And it’s not like this part of the map was showing anything anyway.
“This 6-pack has a cardboard holder.”

How have we not thought of this sooner? Sure, paper isn’t always the most reliable thing to hold a bunch of full cans. But cardboard? That’ll work. And it would break down in the ocean long before it could get stuck around a dolphin’s snout.
“These waste bins with labels for different trash!”

Not only are the different compartments labeled super clearly, but they’re also raised or lowered to different heights. This makes it so easy to differentiate which kind of waste goes where. More of these in more places would be great, actually.
“These Mickey Popcorn tongs from Tokyo Disneyland… Why? Keeps fingers clean eating popcorn or chips!”

Sure, licking chip dust off your fingers can be fun. But it’s also not… sanitary. Especially if you’re sharing those chips or you’re doing something else while eating them (like playing video games). So, this will work a lot nicer.
“Wall of books at a Denver restaurant.”

Honestly, I wish more places would use books as decor in creative ways like this. It makes the whole area look so cozy, because there’s really nothing cozier than sitting around with a good book and a blanket. So yeah, I’d give the decor of this place a 10 out of 10.
“This book has angled corners and rounded page corners to prevent damage to the book.”

Speaking of great book ideas, where were these all my life? You know how many books I could’ve not ruined if I had rounded corners on the cover and pages? So many. But I guess better late than never.
“My new protein powder has a hook so you don’t lose the scoop inside.”

See, things like this are what get me out of bed in the morning (not really). This idea is so simple, yet so elegant. And sure, it’s in a container of protein powder (which not everyone likes to have around), but this could be used for any other kind of scoop-able item, too.
“This air freshener that spins when you turn the air on, I love it.”

I, too, love this spinning air freshener. There are some people out there who really need fresheners to keep their cars from smelling, well, bad. And something like this would just make it a lot more fun. And you can’t spell “function” without “fun,” after all.
“Jerky made out of invasive fish instead of beef.”

See, things like this are actually really helpful. Invasive fish can really mess with an ecosystem (and bugs, too, but I don’t think we’re ready for bug jerky). Hopefully it tastes good, because it would be a great way to keep a local wildlife population under control.
“My Amazon gift card box is the amazon delivery box.”

This is honestly so cute I can barely handle it.
Now, if only they could put the effort into making appropriately-sized boxes for smaller shipments… You know, instead of shipping a pack of batteries in a huge box with a bunch of plastic air bags in it.
“This restaurant I’m at has all three hand washing steps at the sink.”

Even though I’m sure there are people who won’t use this (because some people are nasty), I appreciate the heck out of it. There’s a proper way to wash your hands, and a sink like this would make sure people do it.
“These refrigerator section doors at the pharmacy have pictures of what’s inside.”

I will never not be amazed by these kinds of doors. They’ll tell you what’s where without frost or condensation getting in the way. Now, if only they also told you how much stock was on each shelf…
“This chair in the airport has a slot for holding luggage.”

I can’t believe I’ve been on this Earth for so long, and yet I’ve never seen anything like this before. This tiny slot literally changes everything. Such a simple design change, and yet it could work anywhere you’d need to put a bag.
“My thermometer came with Jelly Bellys.”

I just like the idea of people shipping candy with things. It seems like a really nice, really personal touch.
And seriously, who wouldn’t want a Jelly Belly pack with their meat thermometer? Seems like a match made in heaven if you ask me.
“Hand sanitizer built into bathroom door handle. Just make sure you’ve opened the door first before dispensing.”

I feel like something like this would be really nice, especially in a public restroom (because more people out there don’t wash their hands than you’d think). I hope we see more of these soon!
“‘Pizza boxes only.'”

Now this is something we need. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how annoying it is to try and throw away a pizza box. They’re just so big and awkward to fold. But this? This would take so much of the work out of it.
“This toilet bowl lid had a dedicated section for your hand to lift it.”

My first thought was how much easier a tab like this would make cleaning a toilet. But it would also work for people who have to pee with the seat up. Little things like this make the world so much more accessible.
“A universal charger I got several years ago on the right vs one I got last week.”

See, technology has advanced so much, we’re in need of fewer and fewer USB outlet types. Now, if only that certain fruit company would make the switch to USB-C so that everyone could use the same charging cables for everything…
