Kseniya Alexandrova, a former Miss Universe contestant from Russia, has died at the age of 30 following a horrific attack by a large animal.
Her husband has shared the details of the incident, which hospitalized her before taking her life.
The couple were together in the car
Alexandrova and her husband, whom she had wed only in March this year, were traveling between Rzhev in western Russia on July 5 when a large elk smashed through the windshield of their Porsche Panamera on the road.
The hit unfortunately took her life
According to her husband, the impact struck the elk’s legs and the airbags didn’t activate.
Tragically, the model was hospitalized and later lost her life after the large animal broke through the windshield and struck her.
Her husband relayed what happened
Alexandrova’s husband Ilya told local news outlet RIA Novosti what happened, saying, “An elk jumped out from somewhere, jumped out in front of the car.”
“From the moment it jumped out until the impact, a split second passed. I did not have time to do anything.”
It hit her on the head
The model’s husband went on, “The elk flew into the car. The blow hit Kseniya in the head. She was unconscious, her head was broken, everything was covered in blood.”
“The worst thing is that the frontal bones of the skull were broken. It was clear that there was an open craniocerebral injury.”
She went into a coma
Heartbreakingly, Alexandrova then went into a deep coma before regaining consciousness and then falling comatosed again, said the husband.
“One day she suddenly went back into a coma. They diagnosed meningitis, which turned into more severe inflammatory diseases of the brain,” Ilya said.

Her health then deteriorated again
The husband went on, “The tests began to deteriorate, and it got to blood sepsis. They were able to restart the heart once… but the next day Kseniya died – they were unable to restart the heart.”
The model’s death was confirmed
After the painful health battle, Alexandrova’s death was confirmed to the public on August 13 by her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis.
They wrote on Instagram, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce that our colleague and friend, model Kseniya Alexandrova, passed away last night.”
They dubbed her ‘extraordinarily bright’
“Kseniya was bright, talented and extraordinarily bright. She knew how to inspire, support and give warmth to everyone around her,” the agency went on in part.
“For us she will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness and inner strength.”
