It’s been a year now since Rob Zombie confirmed he’d be directing a reboot of the kitschy ’60s horror-adjacent series The Munsters , leaving fans of the original show in wait to see what he would do with it.
Now, an official trailer has dropped, and those who had their hopes up appear to be a little… let’s say confused by what they watched.
Rob Zombie’s ‘Munsters’ movie has its first official trailer.

Going by the same title as the original ’60s sitcom about a family of monsters living in suburbia, the new movie is a prequel to the series, seemingly focusing on the story of how Herman and Lily met.
Fans had been waiting for updates since a teaser dropped a few months ago.

Now that the trailer’s here, though people seem a little divided.
The trailer is bright, colorful, and… cheap? Many viewers think the film looks very low budget when it comes to its production.
Rob Zombie’s other films have become cult classics.
Namely House Of 1000 Corpses and his 2007 remake of Halloween, but even die-hard fans of Mr. Zombie don’t seem as thrilled about his newest directorial endeavor.
Many opinions echo that of the tweet above with another person writing , “I rarely say this just off a first trailer, but this movie looks terrible.”
We’ll have to see how this one goes.
There’s no exact release date yet, but the trailer promises it’ll be sometime in September of this year.
There are still some fans who are optimistic, and maybe their hope will pay off! We’ll have to wait until this fall to find out.
