Parenting during the quarantine pandemic hasn’t been easy.
Just ask Eva Mendes.
The actress recently got candid about what it’s been like for her and Ryan Gosling to raise their daughters during the lockdown.
This included some hilarious (and very relatable) stories about it being like running a bed-and-breakfast with some “very drunk and aggressive guests.”
If there is one thing celebs proved during the pandemic, it’s that being in quarantine with kids isn’t easy…
Kim Kardashian gave fans a firsthand look at this back in April when her eldest child, North, interrupted her video about the importance of social distancing.
“You should be more busy of your kids, not your friends,” North said as she tried to get as close to her mom as possible.
“Trust me, I want to get out more than you know,” Kim responded, making her the most relatable parent everywhere.
Another celeb parent who was having so much “fun” (is fun the right word?) with their kids being home 24/7 was Jimmy Fallon.
Since he had to film his late-night talk show at home, this meant that his kids were around *all* of the time…
They even crashed his interviews!
This was hilariously shown during his interview with Halle Berry. Fallon’s seven-year-old daughter, Winnie, crashed the party and got her 15 mins of fame.
Another celeb parent who knows all about the #struggle is Eva Mendes.
The Hitch actress has two daughters, Esmeralda, 6, and Amada, 4, with partner, Ryan Gosling.
While she’s normally very private, she surprisingly was an open book during a recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald .
This included teasing a potential return to Hollywood…
Her last movie was 2014’s Lost River , which was written and directed by Ryan Gosling.
“I feel like, as far as my ambition, it didn’t go away, it just shifted onto the children,” she explained to the outlet.
“I applaud and look up to those women who can do it all, but I’m not one of them,” she continued.
“Thankfully, I have a choice not to work and I realize how fortunate I am that it’s even a choice. I’ve been so happy to be able to incubate with my babies.”
But the actress said that now that her kids are four and six, she’s “starting to feel like my ambition is coming back.”
Being stuck in quarantine with the kids may also have something to do with it…
“Sometimes it feels like we are running some kind of bed-and-breakfast with very drunk and aggressive guests,” she said.
She continued:
“We really do feel like we are working in a hotel, and the guests are angry and bossy and demand food brought to them.”
This, understandably, has left her and Ryan feeling run ragged.
“And by the time they go to sleep, we’re left to just clean up and talk about how they’ve treated us that day!”
Even still, the star wouldn’t change a thing.
“When we feel like we’re just ‘in it,’ like all parents do during these times,” she said.
“We remind ourselves that these are the good times because we’re all together and we’re all safe right now.”

Besides, Eva likes being inside (who wouldn’t want to quarantine with Ryan Gosling?).
She proved just that earlier this month when a fan suggested that Ryan needs to get her outside more.
Eva had a classy, yet epic, comeback to this.
“No thank you, I’m good,” she replied. “Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world.”
Mic. Drop.
If you’re wondering why you don’t see much of Ryan on her social media, Mendes explained the reasoning for that a few months back.
“I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids,” she explained to a fan in April.
They had asked Eva if she felt like a single mother after she posted a parenting post without any mention of Ryan.
“I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life,” she continued.
“And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent.”
“And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”
Smart parenting!
“As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, To stay private,” she added.
