Many people who work in customer service work for minimum wage and hope to get a little extra by making tips from their customers . However, there are some jobs where tipping is expected, like when you are a waitress or a server, or even a bartender. In other customer service jobs, tipping is “less normalized” like working at coffee shops and fast-food restaurants.

There are many people who go to their local Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts regularly and tip often, mostly knowing their baristas well. However, there are also customers who do not tip at these establishments ever, or at all when they get coffee.

As both customer service workers are making drinks, many baristas wonder why bartenders get tipped regularly, but they often times do not. Not to mention, at coffee shops like Dunkin’ Donuts, the tips are split for all the workers in front during that shift.
To showcase how it makes a difference in their lives, one Dunkin’ Donuts worker is speaking out.
TikTok user @jasonmora2 has been going pretty viral on the social media app for showcasing specifics about working for the coffee chain. However, many of his videos racked up millions of views on the app and, it seems that he’s trying to keep his job—so, he made the videos “private” now.
In a recent video that went viral, Jason showcased how tips make a difference to him.
Jason claimed in the video that if a customer tips, he makes their drink better than he would make for those who don’t tip. He captioned the video saying, “Frr if you tip, imma make sure your drink is A1.” Basically, he’s saying if you tip, your drink will be great.
The difference between the two seems small, but it’s pretty big.
In the video, he showcases how he makes an iced coffee for someone who doesn’t tip. He puts all the ingredients—cream, sweetener, ice, and caffeine—into the cup and swirls it a bit at the end before giving to a customer.
If you do tip, you get it all mixed up.
Then, when making a drink for a customer who does tip, he does the same thing, bu. when he puts the coffee into the cup for the iced coffee, he stirs the drink as it mixes with the cream and sweeteners. It seems like a small difference but, for coffee drinkers, it’s a big deal.

We’ve all been the people who are constantly shaking our coffees, flipping our cups upside down, and even stirring with our straw. No one wants to have all the milk and sugar at the bottom, we need equal distribution. Right?!
Many online were pretty harsh on Jason, though.
Many called out the Dunkin’ worker, some saying, “So, I’m tipping you to stir my drink?” Others called him out saying that no one tips before they get their drink, so how would he know if they were tipping or not.
One person said Jason is a bit foolish for posting something like this on social media.
One person said that if they were Jason’s boss, his hours would 100% be cut from posting things like this online. Which, of course, could explain why he began to make his Dunkin’ videos private on his profile. Some people need to keep their jobs, rather than just go viral!
