One of the functions of good design is usability. Are you going to be able to utilize all aspects of a particular product efficiently? If that’s not the case, then ladies and gentlemen, I give you what I call — a crappy design .
I can’t tell you enough how much that irritates me. The following ideas are the perfect examples of such confusing designs . Look at them and weep.

1. This Airport Gate Sign
Who hates going to the airport? Ugh, I wish I could avoid that whole mess, ha, ha! But can you imagine getting stuck looking for Gate 5 at this particular airport here? Yeah, good luck with that one.
2. This Useful Ceiling Fan
“I installed the ceiling fan, boss,” said the worker behind this job. Well, there is one job to install the thing and the other job figuring out whether it’s going to work right. It seems this person forgot the latter, ha, ha!
3. This Elevator
I’m the first one to admit I’m not that great at math. But even if you were quite the mathematic genius, I think you would still have trouble deciphering the logic in this numbering system here. What do you think?
4. This Bathroom Stall
There’s one thing I expect out of life, and it’s privacy when using the bathroom. I guess it’s too much to ask for at this school. So what do you do, hold it in all day?
5. This Accessible Bike Ramp
It’s awesome to see more cities become bike-friendly. However, I’m not sure what the workers who installed this ramp were thinking here. That’s a one-way ticket to nowhere. I feel bad for any biker who gets surprised by this.
6. This Park Bench
Um, excuse me? Is this a park bench or an art installation? I mean, there are two backs and no actual seat here. So how does anybody supposed to use this? I’m pretty confused, to say the least.
7. This Smooth Ride
Wait a minute, somebody has to be joking here? This can’t possibly be a usable pool slide? Who can even fit in there? Good luck using it without injuring your spine or getting out alive. OMG!
8. This Laptop Keyboard
If you’re like me and type on a keyboard without looking at the keys, you’ll be in trouble here. I bet whoever owns this has shut their computer off more times than they can count. What a crappy placement of a power button, huh?
9. This Oxymoron Parking Spot
What’s the problem with this parking spot here? Let me explain. It’s in the same place as the wheelchair ramp, so cars block wheelchair access. People in wheelchairs must park farther away to use the ramp. Wow!
10. This Road Cable
Wow, this must be one popular corner, huh? So much so that people drive on the wall? Otherwise, I’m not too sure what was the point of all of this here. Have you ever seen anything like that?
11. This Highway Pillar
Never drive too fast on a highway because you don’t know when you might encounter a surprise. In this case, a pillar right in the middle of it. So much for road safety, huh? Welcome to Delhi, India. OMG!
12. This Terrible Carpentry Design
Carpentry is definitely an art form if you get it right, though. On the other hand, when you screw up royally like this person here, it sticks out like a sore thumb. Oh my goodness. What happened here?
13. These Stairs
Apparently, these are a real stair design you can find in old homes. They were designed this way to save space, but they look like an accident waiting to happen. I’ll stick with regular stairs, thank you very much.
Are these examples here not the epitome of bad design or what?
Why do people even bother when they clearly they should have given up from the get-go? Next time, just hire somebody who knows what they’re doing. You’ll be doing all of us a favor, and that’s for sure.
