Beloved reality TV mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Mary Duggar passed away ‘suddenly’ on June 9th at the age of 78.
She was the matriarch of the Duggar family, who have shared their lives with us through the shows 19 Kids And Counting and Counting On .
The Duggar family is currently mourning the loss of one of their beloved members.

The Duggars are extremely family-oriented. Mary made several appearances on both 19 Kids And Counting and Counting On throughout the years.
Several of Mary’s grandchildren have shared their disbelief at the loss of their grandmother.

“My heart breaks,” wrote Jill Duggar, “My grandma died suddenly today! She was an amazing woman of God and such a great example to so many! Grandma, you are greatly missed by all who knew you!”
“She was a feisty, incredible woman who always took the time to talk about Jesus with everyone she knew!”

“I know she was ready to check outta here and get her new body in heaven before the old one started giving her too much trouble,” Jill continued, “We miss you so much!!
The family also released a joint statement on their Facebook page.

“We are so sad to share that Grandma Duggar (Mary) passed away Sunday afternoon,” the post reads, “She lived a tremendous life as a follower of Christ, a wife, a devoted mother, a loving mother-in-law, and a much-loved grandmother. We deeply appreciate your prayers for our family and all who loved Mary during this time.”
After days of uncertainty, Mary’s cause of death has finally been revealed to the public.

Washington County Coroner Roger Morris confirmed to USA Today that Grandma Mary Duggar died of an accidental drowning in a swimming pool.
“It appears she slipped and fell into the pool.”

Morris added that the accident took place at Mary’s home in Springdale, Arkansas.
The Duggar’s eldest daughter Jana revealed that her grandmother attended church just hours before she died.

“On her last morning spent here on earth I drove Grandma to church where she worshiped her Savior,” she wrote on Instagram, “Later that afternoon, she went to meet Him face to face! I’d say that’s probably how she would’ve chosen to finish out the day if she got to pick.”
