Celebrity Chef Jameson Stocks recently revealed that he received all sorts of backlash for criticizing Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show on hosting, With Love, Meghan.
The chef shared the messages he got

In an interview with the New York Post, the 41-year-old chef said, “I started getting death threats and all sorts of nasty messages.”
“And I’m thinking to myself, ‘Christ. I’ve not gone in on somebody personally here because that’s something I do not do and would not do. And it’s something that’s just not [in] my nature, to be honest with you.”
This was after he gave his opinion on the show
Stocks received the hate messages after sharing his opinion on the Duchess of Sussex’s show on GB News on Saturday.
“Everything — the music is quite slow, it’s quite lethargic, it’s quite painful to watch,” Stocks told the network. “I think she should go back to acting. She’s quite a good actress. In real life or on screen. People should stick to what they do best.”
Stocks was initially worried about the hate

He shared his initial reaction to the hate, saying, “I’m just a single dad, and then all of a sudden, I’m getting death threats on me. And I’m thinking, ‘What the h**l is going on here?’”
He said he never meant anything personal

Stocks said he never meant to personally attack the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex, adding, “I’ve nothing against Meghan Markle. I never personally attacked Meghan. I never once did that. I never would do that.”
“I have absolutely zero interest in anything to try and bring her down. My only thing was I didn’t like the show and that was it,” he added. “It wouldn’t matter if it was Gordon Ramsay, Wolfgang Puck or Donald Duck. I just didn’t like the program.”
Stocks wanted the show to be different

The celebrity chef explained what his expectations for the lifestyle show were, saying of Meghan and Harry, “I just wanted them to show who they are, rather than being portrayed in some sort of fake program.”
“I actually wanted it to be good because I don’t really agree with the way she was treated in some parts of the media, and at the end of the day, I just want people to be happy. You only have one life. I don’t want negativity.”
Stocks had spoken to Netflix about what he thought was this show

Stocks also revealed he had been asked by Netflix in February 2024 if he wanted to consult on a lifestyle show. He understood this show to have been Meghan Markle’s.
“I was in New York last year, beginning of last year for Fashion Week, and I met with two people from Netflix,” he told the New York Post.
Stocks never received a contract from Netflix

The celebrity chef said, “It was a very casual conversation. They never offered me a contract or mentioned anything regarding the Markle project. They never went into any details as such regarding who it was for. Like I said on [GB News].”
“But I was also made aware of – when I met these people – that it was for the Markle show from someone pretty close to the action,” he added.
His friend was the one to introduce him to Netflix

In speaking about his conversation with people from Netflix, Stocks said, “My friend who actually had a series on Netflix, who lives in New York, introduced me.”
Stocks also added that he took the meeting “out of curiosity more than anything.”
The show started production in April 2024
Although Stocks believed the show Netflix was talking to him about was With Love, Meghan, the Duchess’s show actually didn’t come into production until April 2024, as per Deadline. This was two months after his conversation with Netflix.
A source from Netflix said Stocks got the wrong show
“Chef Jameson Stocks was not invited to participate in With Love, Meghan, and any claims to the contrary are incorrect,” a source from Netflix told the New York Post.
“Jameson himself doesn’t even know which show it was for — he noted ‘he thinks it was for this show,’” the source added. They also warned people against “taking his assumption as fact.”
