Have you ever tried to DIY something and realized that it was completely useless? Well, it’s a real shame when that happens, but at least you did admit it.
As it turns out, some folks lack self-control and embark on upcycling projects that make absolutely zero sense. Here are just a few of them for you to check out. Now you can be the judge.
1. This Knife Block
Excuse me, but I thought wooden knife blocks were the best option. So, why in the heck this person thought ruining perfectly good books was okay to do? Hmm, this doesn’t appeal to me at all.
2. This Pasta Resin
I’ve seen a lot of stuff in resin. From bugs to someone’s teeth, you can have your pick. But I have to admit this is the first time I’ve seen somebody use pasta to make jewelry. What do you think, yay or nay?
3. This Car Extension
If you always wanted a truck, but you couldn’t find one long enough, this idea might be for you. All I can say when I look at this odd DIY is, “Why?” And he even matched the paint, too.
4. These Bean Nails
Again, same as with the resin jewelry, I’ve seen people put a lot of stuff on their nails. But making beans look attractive as a nail accessory is a first for me. Is it just me, or do you think this is stupid, too?
5. These Doll Planters
If you ever wanted to make a unique planter for yourself, there are plenty of ideas. However, something like these decapitated dolls shouldn’t be one of them. It’s like a scene from a horror movie. Am I right?
6. This Car Wheel Solution
Imagine being a car manufacturer, spending millions of dollars and thousands of hours designing and developing a car. Then, the buyer fixes it this way? Wow, why not just take it to a mechanic instead?
7. This DIY Fashion Piece
I get it fashion is subjective. And I, for one, can’t sew to save my life. But even if I made this, I wouldn’t wear it, and I wouldn’t want anybody else to wear it either.
8. This Toilet
Some people would love to sit on a throne made out of gold, but if you can’t have that, this might be the next best thing. Okay, sure. Keep telling yourself that, ha, ha! I’ll take a hard pass.
9. This Dishwasher
Somebody really wanted their dishwasher to stand out in their kitchen. By the looks of it, mission accomplished. I just don’t know if this is the look they were going for or if it was just an accident.
10. These Spray Foam Mirrors
I’m always on the lookout for some fun home decor ideas. However, putting spray foam to highlight mirrors isn’t one of them. Yuck! Why would anybody think this looked remotely good? I’m at a loss for words.
11. This Swing
There is one thing missing in our backyard, and that’s a swing. I’ve always wanted one. But I can definitely say I would never stoop down to this. OMG, I can’t get over this one. Seriously, WTF?
12. These Shoes
Here I thought I’ve seen my share of DIY abominations, and then I laid my eyes on these shoes. I have to say this is probably the worst footwear idea I’ve ever seen. How do you even walk on these?
13. This Ventilated Car
This is a great car if you need to vent after a long day at work, huh? Somebody on Reddit said that after they saw this picture, and I thought it was so funny. They’re not too far off though, right?
14. This Dryer Fluff Sweater
I sincerely hope this doesn’t become a new trend. Someone was able to make a sweater out of their dryer fluff and lint. The only question I have is, how long were they saving up all this lint? Ewww….
15. This Toilet Seat Wreath
Toilet seats are something that should just be thrown out and never upcycled into home decor. I’m sorry but this is just gross.

Before you DIY something, take some time to think about it first. Because once you start, you may not want to quit. And then you could end up on a list like this, hee-hee.
