Celebrities — like you and I, have had their fair share of relationships, and as such, they’ve also formed their own opinions on what monogamy means to them and what it doesn’t mean to them.
Willow Smith.
On an episode of Red Table Talk , Willow revealed that she doesn’t believe monogamy would work for her longterm.
“That feeling of ‘you’re my one and my only, there’s no one else’… for me, that would not work,” she said.
Kristen Bell.
Kristen Bell and her husband, Dax Sheppard, are what’s known around here as #RelationshipGoals. But surprisingly enough, Kristen isn’t totally sold on the idea of monogamy.

Scarlett Johansson.
“I don’t think it’s natural to be a monogamous person. I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work. It’s a lot of work,” Scarlett said in an interview with Playboy .
Pink.
Pink, who has been with her husband, Carey Hart, for more than 11 years, admits that monogamy requires hard work, but can be worth it.
“Monogamy is work! But you do the work and it’s good again,” she said .
Claire Danes.
While Claire is not totally sure if monogamy is a realistic approach to every relationship, she thinks it can work and it can be fun.
“I was talking to my friend recently about monogamy — is it feasible, is it realistic? I resolved that there isn’t really a better model. We just can’t shake monogamy. It definitely demands a kind of rigor and discipline and selflessness. But it’s also fun,” she said .
Angelina Jolie.
Although Angelina and Brad Pitt didn’t go the distance, she did admit while they were still together that fidelity was not the key to making a relationship last.
“I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship… Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other,” she said .
Cameron Diaz.
Cameron has been married since 2015, but her views on monogamy are still uncertain.
“I don’t know if anyone is really naturally monogamous. We all have the same instincts as animals. But we live in a society where it’s been ingrained in us to do these things,” she said .
Shailene Woodley.
“I just haven’t met anyone where I was like, ‘Wow, I could definitely see myself spending a season of my life with you.’ I don’t even know if humans are genetically made to be with one person forever,” Shailene said in an interview with Marie Claire .
Ethan Hawke.
“People have such a childish view of monogamy and fidelity,” Ethan explained . “‘He’s cheated so he’s bad, she’s cheated so she’s bad,’ as opposed to a recognition that our species is not monogamous.”
Whoopi Goldberg.
Whoopi believes that every individual should pay attention to their needs, and if they can’t get what they need from their current partner, it’s not unethical to look elsewhere.
“Sometimes in a relationship, people can’t always get what they need, and if you have reputable people you can turn to in order to get what you need, I say go for it,” she said .
Emma Thompson.
“I do think that monogamy is an odd state, and actually I think it’s an odd state for women,” she shared in 2013, “I think that we’re locked into certain ideas and certain romantic ideals that have shaped our thinking about relationships for some time.”
Hugh Grant.
Hugh has mentioned in the past that he isn’t overly concerned with finding one person to spend his life with — and that he’s far more fascinated with the French and Italian’s way of romance.
“They take [marriage] extremely seriously, but it is understood that there might be other visitors at 5 o’clock in the afternoon,” he said .
Will Smith.
There has been media speculation over the years trying to decipher whether or not Will and Jada have an open marriage. We’ve never gotten a concrete answer, but Will has said this before:

Margaret was in an open marriage for over a decade and revealed that that’s what worked for them.

Gwyneth once opened up about how she doesn’t believe that relationships are always black and white.
