Have you ever not gotten along with a coworker? It’s awkward as hell.
For most of us, we can simply try and ignore the person we don’t like. But for actors, things are much more complicated. Their job is to convince us that they like each other — even if they don’t.
Some actors hated each other so much that they straight up refused to work together.
These are their stories (dun dun).
Alec Baldwin and Shia LaBeouf

The two clashed on the set of the play Orphans. Shia arrived to set prepared. Alec didn’t.
Allegedly, Shia told Alec that he was “slowing him down.” When Alec requested that one of the two of them had to go…Shia was fired.
I don’t get it, either.
Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams
While shooting The Notebook, Rachel and Ryan had a knock-down, drag-out screaming match.
At one point, Ryan asked for her to be taken off set and replaced with a different actress.
I kind of wonder if they were screaming to avoid their sexual tension…because they wound up dating after that.
Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty
All was not exactly charmed between Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty.
After initially getting along for two seasons, rumors began to surface that things had gone south between the two.
Eventually, Shannen straight up left the show.
Wesley Snipes and Ryan Reynolds

Apparently, Wesley Snipes took his role as Blade a little too seriously in the Blade: Trinity .
He only talked to the director via handwritten notes, signed “Blade.” He only shot his close-ups, too, so Ryan Reynolds had to act alone.
Dude.
Bill Murray and Lucy Liu

The two clashed on the set of Charlie’s Angels. Bill Murray reportedly asked Lucy Liu why she was there, since she “can’t act.”
Lucy attacked him and the two had to be separated.
Bill Murray did not return for the film’s sequel.
Will Smith and Janet Hubert

Will Smith and Janet Hubert had so much drama on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that her character was re-cast.
Yup. That’s why Aunt Viv mysteriously changed, in case you never knew.
Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi

The actresses despised one another so much that Archie’s character was written off the show. She returned for the series finale — but there was a catch.
She and Julianna didn’t film their final scene together. They were spliced back together in editing, as the scene was shot with the split screen technique.
That’s a high level of petty.
Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker
Sex And The City fans everywhere were devastated to find out Kim and SJP secretly hated one another while on set. Head wrtier and executive producer of the show Michael Patrick King set the feud record straight , “As the show progressed, the characters, everybody grew, it became a family. Kristin, Cynthia and Sarah Jessica became one group, and Kim never joined mentally.
“Kim fought and said, ‘I’m everyone’s favourite.’ … (Parker’s) name was contractually, legally, righteously, the only name on the poster due to the fact that she was a movie star in 1998 when the series started and she did a leap to do a show about sex on (HBO), the channel that did the fights, and it doesn’t matter how popular you are.”
Charlie Sheen and Selma Blair

Charlie Sheen hated sharing scenes with Selma Blair so much that he had her fired.
Apparently, she complained about his work ethic to producers, and that rubbed him the wrong way.
I hope she has a wonderful, fulfilling, successful career that keeps her away from him forever.
Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic
These two had so much tension that they were rumored to have been forced to attend couple’s counseling.
Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion allegedly hated each other, with an on-set source claiming: “Stana would cry on set because Nathan was such a bully to her […]”
They never commented on the subject, but it does make you wonder about her very abrupt exit from the show.
Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte

The film may have been called I Love Trouble, but neither actor loved anything about shooting it.
They hated one another so much that stand-ins had to be used.
They also hit each other in the media. She called him “disgusting.”
He said she was “not a nice person.”
Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel

Ugh, this one makes me sad.
The two actors made no secret of their falling out on the set of The Fate of the Furious.
Vin even posted an entire essay about it on Instagram.
Bette Davis and Joan Crawford
Joan Crawford and Bette Davis were two of Hollywood’s most glamorous leading ladies in the 1930s and ’40s. However, the two became enemies after both falling for actor Franchot Tote.
Despite the feud, the pair co-stared in the film What Ever Happened To Baby Jane? According to reports from the set, the pair got nasty with one another, “At the time of filming, Crawford was married to the CEO of Pepsi, so naturally, Davis made sure that a Coca-Cola machine was installed in Crawford’s dressing room. In a scene where Davis has to drag her character Blanche out of bed, Crawford wore a lead weightlifter’s belt hidden under her costume. Davis, who already suffered from back problems, reportedly ended the scene in agony, with an amused Crawford looking on.”
Emma Watson and Channing Tatum

At one point, Emma and Channing were slated to share a scene with one another in The End of the World.
Channing didn’t impress Emma, though, when he decided to pull out some of his trademark dance moves in front of her. While wearing a thong.
Emma walked off the set, and the scene was never shot.
Richard Gere and Sylvester Stallone

Oof.
After Richard Gere spilled food grease on Sylvester Stallone on the set of The Lords of Flatbush, Stallone had him fired.
Dude, it was only a bit of chicken grease. I don’t know if that’s grounds for firing…
Julie McCullough and Kirk Cameron
Apparently, posing for Playboy was Julie McCullough’s sin, which is…insane.
Kirk Cameron reportedly asked for their characters’ wedding to be called off after learning of her past.
Her character was written off of the show. Classy.
Ariana Grande & Victoria Justice
Fans of Victorious might be surprised to know Ari and Vic weren’t very tight during the filming of the hit Nickelodeon show. Following the show’s cancellation after just four seasons, a Twitter feud between the two stars began with Ari tweeting, “Sweetheart the only reason Victorious ended is because 1 girl didn’t want to do it. She chose to do a solo tour instead of a cast tour. If we had done a cast tour Nickelodeon would have ordered another season of Victorious…”
Justice tweeted back saying, “Some people would throw some1 they consider a friend under the bus just 2 make themselves look good. #StopBeingAPhony #IfTheyOnlyKnew”
Leonardo DiCaprio and Clare Danes

While on the set of the 90’s staple Romeo and Juliet it’s reported that Danes found Dicaprio “very immature.”
While Danes didn’t enjoy DiCaprio’s pranking of cast and crew members, Leo found her to be uptight, despite being six years older than her.
Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey
This one cracks me up.
No, Jim Carrey didn’t refuse to work with Tommy Lee Jones on the set of Batman Forever.
Instead, because he hated Tommy so much, he refused to sit and eat lunch with him. Harsh.
