Elaine Hendrix, the actress who played “Meredith” in “The Parent Trap” just made a hilarious joke about Dennis Quaid’s recent engagement.
I know it’s only Tuesday, but it honestly made my whole week.
If you’re a ’90s or early 2000s baby, then you’ve probably seen the Lindsay Lohan remake of “The Parent Trap” — in fact, you’ve probably seen it several times.
If you haven’t, I suggest you get on that ASAP. It’s iconic.
Anyway, you probably recall Meredith, the 26-year-old gold digger who gets engaged to the twins father in the movie.
As children, we hated her back then because she was clearly the villain of the movie and we were obviously rooting for the twins.
But now, as an adult, I gotta say, I really respect Meredith’s hustle and determination.
Marrying a rich older man, sending his daughters off to boarding school, and living off of his cash for the rest of her days? Sounds like a pretty genius plan to me.
Her plan would have been fool proof if not for those darn twins.
Their camp antics were just too much for Meredith.
They broke her.
Twins – 1, Meredith – 0.
Anyway, I digress.
Dennis Quaid, the actor who played the father of the twins in the movie, just got engaged IRL to his 26-year-old girlfriend, Laura Savoie.
Pretty ironic, amirite?
Wait, it gets better.
Dennis actually has twins!
He and his ex-wife, Kimberly Buffington, had fraternal twins, Thomas and Zoe, born via surrogate in 2007.
The irony here is unreal.
And now they are at the perfect age to pull off the ultimate real-life Parent Trap scheme and scare off their soon-to-be step-mom before it’s too late!
So, shortly after Dennis confirmed his engagement, Elaine chimed in, in the most hilarious way.
This joke is brilliant in too many ways. I don’t even know where to begin.
Not only did she effortlessly reference “The Parent Trap” — a film that she starred in alongside Dennis, but she also poked fun at the fact that he actually has twins.
If you ask me, she gave Dennis’ new fiancé some top-notch advice!
