Eddie Murphy is one of those celebrities everyone loves. His wide range of movies and comedy specials ensure fun for the entire family —, which is one of the many reasons people love him!
Now, the 59-year-old is opening up about how proud he is of his own family, and how relieved he is that they didn’t grow up to be stereotypical Hollywood kids.
It’s easy to forget how many children Eddie Murphy has. It’s 10, by the way, who range in age from 2, to 31.
It’s most likely due to his ability to keep his private life private. However, in a new interview with The Mirror the comedian is opening up about fatherhood and his children.
Eddie, who shares his kids with five different women, welcomed his first baby in 1989 when he and then-girlfriend Paulette McNeely had their son Eric. A year later, Tamara Hood gave birth to his son Christian. The actor went on to wed Nicole Mitchell in 1993, and together they share five kids: Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola, and Bella. He went on to have a daughter, Angel, with Spice Girl Melanie Brown. Eddie’s current fiancée, Australian actress Paige Butcher, has given birth to his young children — Izzy and Max.

Eddie told the publication he feels “so blessed” to have five sons and five daughters who treat people with respect.
“My kids are so great, normal people – and nobody is like the Hollywood jerk kid,” the actor joked.
“My kids are smart and are trying to do stuff.”
He continued: “I am blessed with my kids. I really, really got lucky.”
“I don’t have one bad seed. I don’t have any like, ‘Oh, you are the one.’ I don’t have any of that. I am going to be 60 in April and I have all these babies. I love fatherhood.”
As far as his career is concerned, Eddie acknowledged that his days of pumping out films are over:
“The whole idea of being out there and doing three movies a year, that [expletive] is over. I have got all these babies.”
“I found it over and over again and along the way [that] I realized that if you put your children first you never make a bad decision.”
“When you hit a crossroads moment or you have got some [expletive], you think, Well, what is best for my children?”
I love everything about that!
