Rupert Grint said he would gladly reprise his role as Ron Weasley in Harry Potter …with some conditions.
The 34-year-old British actor made an appearance on the talk show, This Morning , and was asked by host Phillip Schofield whether he would be willing to bring Ron back.
“You wouldn’t actually be opposed to see what he is up to now?” Schofield asked.
He’d Come Back If…

Grint replied, “I think if the timing was right and everyone was coming back, I would definitely revisit it. It was a character that was important to me, we kind of became the same person.”
‘It Was My Whole Childhood’
The Harlow native also explained that he was “protective” of his character, saying, “It was my whole childhood.”
He Got The Role At Age 11

Grint was only 11 years old when he snagged the role of the young Hogwarts wizard in the Harry Potter franchise. He starred in all eight films alongside Daniel Radcliffe, who played the title role, and Emma Watson, who played Hermione Granger.
He Didn’t Have Much Experience As An Actor Before ‘Harry Potter’

He had very little experience before he was cast as Ron, having acted only in school plays. In his interview on This Morning , he even joked that he only played the role of a fish before his big break in Harry Potter .
20th Anniversary Reunion

In 2021, Grint reunited with Radcliffe, Watson, and the other stars of the franchise to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
His Career Post-Harry Potter

After the last Harry Potter film, he went on to act in a number of movies and TV series, as well as West End and Broadway plays. He’s also starring in an upcoming psychological thriller by M. Night Shyamalan titled Knock at the Cabin .
Filming ‘Knock at the Cabin’

Grint visited This Morning to discuss Knock at the Cabin alongside his costar Ben Aldridge. Both agreed that filming the psychological thriller was scary at times.
“This does entangle both of my fears. It was quite stressful!” the Harry Potter star said.
He Spoke With An American Accent

On a lighter note, the British-born star also talked about perfecting his American accent for the movie, for which he had to work with a coach. “I have done it [before] so I’m getting used to it,” he said.
Another Harry Potter reunion?

As for reprising his role as Ron, let’s hope someone convinces Radcliffe and Watson to come back as Harry and Hermione as well.
