TJ Jackson might have just made himself public enemy no. 1 with some really harsh truths he had to say regarding his aunt, Janet Jackson . After critiquing a controversial topic, his one tweet has caused an uproar amongst fans.
How It All Started

Like any other regular day on Twitter, the former 3T band member, TJ Jackson, had a few opinions he wanted to get out. Commenting on a thread about the importance of diversity, which has now been deleted, he tweeted, “I love black women. I wish you would respect the black women we put in our music videos and if you are really serious about making a difference stop supporting the negative image many female black celebs today portray. WAP was not a good look. That deserves your energy.”
Fan Reminds Him of Janet’s Performance
In a bid to call out his hypocrisy, one fan reminded him of his aunt’s sexual stage performance with a clip of her concert when she danced seductively with a strapped fan. This tweet from the fan has also been deleted.
The Spark That Started The Fire

His responding tweet probably set his Twitter mentions ablaze afterward. TJ reacted to the fan’s tweet, saying, “I never liked when she did this in concerts either. I don’t like when females are overly sexualized in art…it degrades and objectifies’s women in a way that’s not healthy. I prefer the ‘That’s The Way Love Goes’ Janet.” And that was all it took, fans went after him.
Biased Perspective?
One user trying to understand what TJ might be implying asked if his opinion about her concert performances was skewed because…well, she’s his aunt.
TJ’s Day Off

The Soul artist, no doubt, had a lot of free time while responding to the user almost immediately saying, “Nah…I didn’t like it…it just diminishes her amazing talent. Further adding he would love to hear the user’s disagreement while ending the tweet with “#respect”
Double Standards

The banter continued, and it seemed like TJ Jackson was being baited; another user questioned him about the double standards of sexual objectification. “& how does it diminish her talent? Elaborate. If a man does the same performance, what does it do to his talent?”
“Vulgarity Is Not Art”

In his defending statement to avoid being discriminatory, the I Don’t Deserve This singer responded with, “It’s unfair but men aren’t as objectified as women. Nevertheless to me it diminishes it and leads to other stereotypes.”
Ending that specific tweet with “vulgarity is not art to me… it’s more shock and awe and can lead to perceptions, and ever worse, role models that don’t help our advancement.”
Even Michael Jackson Got Involved
As TJ’s responses continued, fans had different opinions they wanted to let on the situation, and another person suggested that Michael Jackson had been even more vulgar. But, TJ made a dismissing tweet that read, “his videos never objectified women. That’s my issue.”
In a separate tweet, TJ mentions a slightly condemning tweet, “My aunt got a lot dirtier than my uncle.. lol but no help needed. I’ve traveled and seen how black women are treated better outside the states. They are truly and rightfully celebrated more and I believe it has a lot to do with how we allow ourselves to be projected here.”
She Is An Angel

Yet again, one user retweeted another user’s comment, “A bit of mass confusion. I saw someone else say he called Janet a “h**”. He did not.” TJ quickly added to clear the air against any other confusion, “Of course I didn’t. She is a “
Building Queens
Sadly, Janet’s nephew was misconstrued; his entire backlash against Cardi B’s WAP video was to protect his daughter. He concluded his argument that he only wants his daughters to grow up recognizing themselves as queens.
Janet Did Cross A Line Though

Although Janet Jackson has a reputation for amazing concerts, they have been known to be overly sexual and seductive. TJ did agree that some lines were crossed by his aunt, tweeting, “And those dance moves at her concerts which is different than music videos with today’s top artists. Again this all started with me saying I don’t want my girls thinking WAP is their anthem.”
The Accountability Tweet
Fans of Janet weren’t going to let this go down without an extra fight — with one user calling TJ out for speaking against his aunt publicly.
“So we are trolls for holding you accountable for speaking about your aunt in such a way. You’re comparing your children to a very grown ICON! Don’t ever speak like that about Janet again. We are not gonna stand for that!” Adding, “I know you’re not trying to shame your own aunt, in public??!”
No Word From Aunty
Although the heated conversation between TJ and some fans took a trend, Janet Jackson has yet to comment on the issue. No words are to be expected, at least not now.
Janet’s Upcoming Tour

The iconic That’s The Way Love Goes singer announced last December that her “Together Again” tour is slated for April 14. For her most recent tour yet, the Jackson singer will stop in Atlanta, San Diego, and New York until her last performance in Seattle on June 21.
Special Guest Ludacris
Rapper and actor Ludacris will be the opener for the Janet Jackson tour and will see the stars move across 33 cities in the U.S. Ludacris shared more details about the upcoming tour dates on his Instagram .
Tom Brady’s Mess

Before the TJ Jackson situation, former NFL player, Tom Brady, had shared his opinion about Janet Jackson’s wardrobe malfunction — of course, he was slammed. The 45-year-old NFL icon discussed the 2004 Super Bowl half-time performance, where Timberlake ripped off Janet’s top, exposing her bare breast.
Expressing his opinion about it on his Let’s Go! podcast , he said, “I think in the end, it was probably a good thing for the NFL because everyone got to talk about it.” Adding to the statement, “It was just more publicity and more publicity for half-time shows. Is any publicity bad publicity? That’s what they say, so who knows?”
Fans Didn’t Like It
As you’d suspect, Janet fans didn’t like Brady’s take on the 2004 Super Bowl saga. One fan wrote to Brady saying, “He sees a black woman’s career being sidelined as a minor casualty for the sake of the NFL.”
It Continued
Brady’s saga with Janet had considerably a larger backlash than TJ’s. Another Janet fan cursed at him, saying, “Tom Brady, are you out of your damn mind? Janet was blackballed, and Justin Timberlake skated free and mocked her.”
Apologetic Timberlake

Although the event occurred in 2004, Timberlake’s public apology didn’t come until 2021. Posted on his Instagram page, Timberlake shared a sorry message to Janet Jackson and Britney Spears.
