We already know that everyone Reese Witherspoon is related to looks just like her. But after posting a rare selfie with her older brother, our theory is confirmed!
It’s truly the year of the Reese Witherspoon renaissance.
You’ve almost definitely seen her in one of HBO’s biggest drama series Big Little Lies , or at least you’ve heard everyone at work talking about the show around the water cooler.

There is something very magical about the Witherspoon genes.
We already know that Reese’s eldest, Ava Phillippe looks identical to her.
The resemblance is truly uncanny.
I don’t think anyone has ever looked more like their mother in the entire history of mothers and daughters.
I feel like I’m looking at a photo of 1990s Reese Witherspoon standing next to 2019 Reese Witherspoon.
I mean, seriously.
Even when your grandmother adoringly pinches your cheeks and tells you how much you look like your mother/father/great uncle/old family dog, she doesn’t mean it as much as this.
If it wasn’t for the difference in photo quality, we’d never be able to tell the difference.
But hey, at least we know if we misplace THIS Reese Witherspoon, we have a backup one charging.
Fans have even pointed out that Ava’s boyfriend, Owen Mahoney, happens to look just like her father, Ryan Phillippe.
Definitely a weird observation — but valid nonetheless.
She really is her mother’s daughter!
Deacon, Reese’s eldest son, is also a spitting image of his mama.
Probably not exactly what any teenage boy wants to hear, but it’s the truth!
Ava and Deacon both have Reese’s bright blue eyes, big smile, and blonde locks.
These kids got seriously lucky.
If this isn’t #FamilyGoals, I don’t know what is!
Naturally, Reese’s youngest son, Tennessee, looks just like her as well.
And even though he is a half-sibling to Ava and Deacon, he definitely shares his looks with them!

They are, without a doubt, all going to grow up and break a ton of hearts.
We later discovered that Reese also looks identical to her own mother.
So, my suspicion is that the Witherspoons are just straight-up cloning themselves. That’s the only explanation for this that I can think of.
Anyway, Reese posted a rare selfie with her brother, John D. Witherspoon, over the weekend that has us all doing a double take.
This is one of the very few times we’ve caught a glimpse of her brother and we’re now realizing how strikingly similar these two look.
“Happy Birthday to my big brother who always volunteers to be my chauffeur when I’m in Nashville,” she captioned the photo.
“He is also good at many important things like: setting up electronic devices, cleaning AC filters, smoking 5lbs of ribs for a party, and changing oil filters.”
“All of these skills are much appreciated by his Sister,” she added.
“Love you big bro! P.S. I need help with my WiFi today… can you come over ?”
What are big brothers for if not fixing wifi, right?
Some people may not have seen the family resemblance, but they sensed the Force.
Wait, if Reese looks like her brother, and her brother looks like Mark Hamill… does this mean Reese Witherspoon looks like a young, female Luke Skywalker?
The last photo Reese posted with her brother on Instagram was this throwback of them from when they were kids.
“Happy #NationalSiblingsDay to the best big brother!” she captioned the photo. “What’s that saying? Fashion fades but family is forever?? Love you!,” she wrote .
In 2014 she shared another rare photo of her and her brother.
“Love seeing my brother. He shares my love for doughnuts and that’s how I know we are related,” she wrote .
All that to say, if you’re apart of the Witherspoon family tree, you’ve basically won the genetic jackpot.
