She said, “there are a lot of women in their 50s now on television, like me, Claud, and Davina [McCall] – a lot more than there used to be.”
Still Her Time To Shine
The ex-model also revealed that her time isn’t done on the show, and she will enjoy every moment of it. “When it feels like it’s time to go and hide, I will! But I enjoy myself too much to leave any time soon. I’m northern, and we’re pragmatic by nature. At this point, I’m grateful to still be healthy and working.”
It’s Wrinkle Season

In a candid discussion with The Sun , the 53-year-old presenter spoke about her appearance and how aging feels like for her. Acknowledging she’s no longer that young model from before, she says, “I’ve got wrinkles galore. You know when you look down at your iPhone, and the camera is open, and you go: ‘Oh, my god!’ I’m at that point.”
Thankful To Be Where She Is
Instead of beating herself up about a natural phenomenon going on with her, Tess said she is thankful for a healthy life and a loving career she still has.
Her Self-Critic Inner Voice Talks

The mother of two young girls also admitted that she could sometimes be pretty critical of herself. When asked if she’s happy with what she sees in the mirror, she said, “No! I look in the mirror and think, ‘Oh no!’ most of the time. Like all of us, you have moments when you’ve scrubbed yourself up, put on a nice frock and high heels, and you think, ‘OK, let’s go.'”
Nose Complaints
Talking about one of her flaws, which she highlights, she revealed her nose hasn’t always been her best feature. Tess says she has hated her nose since she was 15 and explains why: “I broke it playing netball. I hate my profile. I’d love to change it, but I wouldn’t dare in case it just looked worse afterwards.”
She’s Okay With It
But she doesn’t let it steal her joy. For now, she’s focused on concentrating on the good stuff and her health. Also adding she wants to continue being strong and there for her kids — it’s her priority.
Her “Feel Good” Routine

While discussing her morning routines, Tess Daly mentions she sometimes does 10 minutes of stretching. A self-care technique she learned from her former co-presenter, Bruce Forsyth, to maintain flexibility and good health.
The Pressure Is Real

Speaking candidly about her early career as a model, she shared that there is an ongoing pressure within the industry for women to keep up an appearance that requires eating less.
No To Skipping Meals
Although the pressure persisted during her time, she admitted that dieting wasn’t an option for her because she was from a family that doesn’t skip meals. She said, “it was just sacrilegious, so that was ingrained in me.”
A Naïve Young Model

Tess recounts how naïve she was, as a new model in the industry, about the lifestyle of intentionally skipping meals practiced by her peers. She said, “I was around a lot of people who were depriving themselves of food because they felt they had to be thinner.”
Just A Little Of Both
She had to make compromises to grow and succeed as a model. After hearing opposing compliments about the need for dieting from her peers, she said she decided to take a “pinch of salt” from both decisions and acted on them.
Dieting Ain’t For Tess

Still on the diet conversation, Tess stated, “I’ve never dieted or counted calories. I’ve never overeaten, but I haven’t deprived myself, either. I saw a lot of unhappiness caused by diets.”

Her Important Mom Role

Tess shares her wonderful two daughters, 18-year-old Phoebe and 13-year-old Amber, with her darling husband, Vernon Kay. She says about her children and being a mom, “for me, it’s my most important role – it’s what I am first and foremost. The first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing at night is my kids’ well-being – and I bet any parent would agree with me.”
Bye Bye Spirit

The TV presenter also admitted there’s an ever-growing pressure on kids today than before. She talks about how everything is documented these days and how her kids lack the same carefree spirit she had growing up. “We were allowed to make mistakes and learn from them, whereas everything they do is filmed. It’s a bit sad.”
Character Over Appearance
Being totally against the pressure of public image put on kids today, she’s all about letting her daughters know that the content of their character outweighs their appearance — go, mom Tess!
