Khloé Kardashian has had an aggressively mediocre year so far — and the good times just keep on rolling — if it isn’t one thing, it’s another.
This time, fans are calling out Khloé for appropriating black culture. Again.
Back in March, a slew of angry comments poured in, replying to a photo that Khloé posted of herself prior to attending Diana Ross’ 75th birthday party.

Khloé posed for a photo wearing a gold, sequent gown. But her bronzed skin and voluminous, curly hair set a few people off.
Fans called this out for being an example of cultural appropriation.

“This is modern minstrel blackface, how do you not see that perspective?,” someone commented. “The hair is inappropriate,” another wrote.
This fan pointed out that it isn’t fair for Khloé to wear her hair that way.

“Black people who have this natural texture in their hair don’t get hired for jobs, kids get sent home from school, etc. That’s what the issue is and why it’s [cultural] appropriation. Until they get treated fairly for their natural features, this will always be #CultureAppropriation and not ever ‘appreciating.’”
Other fans, however, thought that Khloé’s look was very tasteful, and an appropriate appreciation of another culture and Diana Ross.

“Never understood why appreciating the features of someone else’s culture is a bad thing,” they wrote. “She isn’t mocking it. She isn’t poking fun at black women. She literally just wants to wear her hair that way because she LIKES it. LMK when ironing your hair is going to become cultural appropriation as well,” they continued.
“If y’all say this is cultural appropriation, stop,” another fan commented.

“She could’ve taken this DRESS-UP outfit a lot further if she really wanted to. She’s literally wearing a poofy WIG and a dress the singer would probably wear. Stop being so sensitive 2019.”
Khloé’s hair is being called into question once more — this time for wearing her hair in cornrows.

Khloé wearing a braided hairstyle, commonly worn by those of color, has offended many fans who are once again, accusing her of cultural appropriation.
While on vacation, Khloé posted this photo of herself on the beach, sporting the aforementioned braided hairstyle.

She captioned the photo: “I never want to leave”.
“You don’t have to leave, but please leave that hairstyle behind,” someone commented.

“Having a black kid doesn’t give you permission to appropriate black hair, you know,” someone else wrote.
“You’re not black sis,” read another comment.

“Those braids aren’t you,” another fan wrote. “You’re not black hun!!”
“So none of her black friends gonna tell her this hair ain’t it?,” asked another follower.
This person commented, letting Khloé know that despite her recent hairstyle choices, she still is not black.

They added that by wearing her hair in cornrows, she is mocking black culture and it is “not cute”.
Another fan pointed out that just because Khloé’s daughter, True, is black doesn’t mean that Khloé is black by association.

They added that she doesn’t have permission to rock “OUR cornrows”.
Not everybody was hating on Khloé, however. Many fans defended her — pushing back on the criticisms.

This fan wrote that they actually love when other cultures embrace African American roots — but reminded everyone not to forget where it originated from the first place.
This fan commented that as a black woman, they believe that anyone and everyone should be allowed to wear their hair in braids if they want to.

But added that the look doesn’t suit everybody.
This person asked who cares if her hair is braided — adding that she looked amazing.

They urged Khloé to pay no mind to the haters and keep rocking the braids.
Another fan supported Khloé, commenting that she loves the braids and that she should ignore the negative feedback.

Do you think that Khloé’s cornrows were overstepping and should be considered cultural appropriation?
