Amy Adams has opened up on her pregnancy and her weight, stating that shedding weight wasn’t a priority for her while speaking to Parade .

The Wolf of Wall Street star welcomed her daughter Aviana Olea last year and has been opening up on the life lessons she learned following both the pregnancy and the birth. Amy said that pregnancy helped her to “finally understand” what her real “relationship” with her physique was. As such, she wasn’t “put on this earth to look good in a swimsuit.”

The redhead added , “I was like, ‘Look, I can carry a baby! I’m gaining weight right, everything is going well.’ And I’ve had that relationship ever since.”

Amy’s daughter is now approaching 9 months old. “I’ve been working out when I can … but losing weight is not my number one priority,” Adams added. “It’s part of my job to return to some semblance of what I was before. But I don’t feel I’ve ever made my career on my rockin’ bod.” Amy shares her daughter with husband Darren Le Gallo.
Stillborn Situation On-Screen
In her interview, Amy also discussed the challenges of playing someone who sadly gives birth to a stillborn, losing her child – this is via the star’s role in the movie Junebug.
Amy said that due to the film’s ending, many women had reached out to her about their own experiences of stillbirth and that the character she played had “touched them.” However, she did say that playing the role and then being pregnant herself left her “terrified.”

Speaking after the birth, Amy also shared:
