Weddings are for the married couple-to-be to enjoy with their friends and family. It’s a way to celebrate the joining of two families. Some couples throw lavish affairs for a long list of attendees, while others opt for a more intimate setting.
It’s also customary to bring a gift, but the amount varies. However, one bride was shocked to find out about a guest’s behavior at her wedding, and I’m about to share this bizarre story from Reddit with you all.
This bride didn’t want anything too extravagant for her wedding reception.

So, she opted for a simple ceremony followed by a buffet dinner. The couple had about 25 people in attendance. Before the wedding, her dad asked her if it would be okay if he brought his best friend to the wedding.
This was totally okay with the bride.

But then, at the last minute, her dad had another request. Apparently, his BFF asked if his daughter and son-in-law could come. This, too, was okay with the wedding couple. And this is when things get weird.
So the daughter shows up by herself.

And get this — she proceeds to load up Tupperware with the food from the wedding. I kid you not. Apparently, she brought 10 containers with her to load up. She not only took lots of food but also three containers of homemade cookies, and most of the centerpieces.
OMG, what?

Oh yeah, that’s right. This all happened while the bride was busy enjoying her day. She only heard about it afterward from her dad. And to make matters worse, this unusual guest left a pretty crappy wedding gift.
Here’s what happened when the couple opened the gift envelope.

They found a total of $5!!! Yes, five bucks! That’s like adding insult to injury, no? Who even does that? I wouldn’t expect an extravagant gift, but at least it would be nice if this person covered the cost of their plate, huh?
After the bride complained about this on Reddit, people had lots to say, lol.

Most comments called this guest’s behavior “trashy”, and I have to fully agree with them on that. I mean, how rude to show up with Tupperware to someone’s wedding who you don’t even really know. It’s not like they’re your family or something like that.
I can’t get over this, ha, ha.

Then this person had the gall to leave such a small wedding gift. Why leave a gift at all? If this happened to me, I would be pretty shocked. I feel embarrassed for this person. Honestly, I would love to hear their side of the story. How can they justify behavior like that?
But wait, there’s more.

Apparently, this person isn’t poor or anything. The bride mentioned that they’re better off than the couple. So why so cheap? It’s a wedding, after all. If you can’t bring a decent gift, then why come at all? And to steal food from the reception? That must be the lowest of the low.
So what do you think of this story?

Isn’t it unbelievable? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a wedding guest behaving like this before. And this is someone who the wedding couple didn’t even know. I wonder if they ended up sending a thank-you card to this guest and referenced the ‘generous’ $5 gift, ha, ha. I doubt this person would have gotten the sarcasm, though. What do you think?
