Mila Kunis has revealed the one parenting agreement she and husband Ashton Kutcher have when it comes to balancing their careers with being good parents.
It can be challenging at times
Being an actor and a parent is no doubt challenging at times since, like many other jobs, acting can have a person be away from their family for quite a while.
That is if they’re filming at a far away location at different hours of the day.
Kunis and Kutcher try to balance it
With the complexities of the job in mind, actor Mila Kunis, 42, recently shared the one parenting rule she and husband Ashton Kutcher, 47, have agreed to in order to always make sure their kids are taken care of.
They were doing the job before having kids
The acting pair have been taking roles since before they welcomed their two kids, Wyatt, 11, and Dimitri, 8, so adjustments had to be made over the past few years.
In an interview last week, Kunis told Extra, “Ash and I never work at the same time.”
They make sure to balance the schedules
Elaborating on the rule, Kunis added, “Neither one of us works, when the kids are in school, out of town.”
However, she explained that there are exceptions to this rule, which can be made if film shoots don’t require her to travel away from home.
If it’s not far from home she can do it
“If it shoots in L.A. — my next project is shooting in L.A. in January — so I’ll do that,” Kunis said.
“Then the project after that shoots in the summer, outside in a different country,” she added.
She and Kutcher try their best to show up
The actress went on to explain that although she and Kutcher remain active in the industry, they try their best to show up for their kids and be available parents.
Kunis also acknowledged how lucky she is to be able to be selective about the work offers she accepts.
The couple have a system
“We tag team in and out, but neither one of us is ever absent,” Kunis said.
“It’s a luxury, and I’m really fortunate. So I don’t take that for granted either,” the star admitted.
